We collected our car from Centauro, booked through Economy Car Hire around 2300 on a Wednesday. The young lady on reception was very pleasant. She explained that a car of the group size we had ordered was not available and we would be having a higher grade vehicle for the same price. This is not a problem except that you are expected to pay for a tank of fuel. When I queried this she agreed that I could return the car full of fuel and would receive a refund for the amount we had paid. in fact it cost us 28 euros to fill the tank instead of paying 93 euros. The car was a Focus estate. Unfortunately there was hardly a panel on the car that was not damaged. As we have full insurance it was pointed out that we need not worry about what was damaged and what wasn't. The remote central locking did not work - needing a new battery. The car had done 75,000 klm, Mechanically it ran well but I did not appreciate driving a 'battered' car even one of the lights wwas smashed. At that time of night it was not worth going back and asking for an alternative, in any case I don't think they would have had one. I cannot fault the service and courtesy we received only the condition of the car.
