Arriving at Seville airport around midday we made our way to the Hertz car rental desk. We were ushered out into the parking bay outside to a caravan in temperatures around 90 degrees. After a 20 minute delay in a short queue we completed the necessary paperwork and were stung for a full tank of petrol. Around 10-20 euros more than garage prices. We were also charged for tyre and windscreen cover and when I pointed out that this was voluntary it was reluctantly removed. The car had not been inspected properly and many scratches and bumps were not marked on the vehicle inspection sheet. Again we took this from the rep and added considerably more. The car was filthy and we declined to take it. After much humming and hawing we were given a second car. On return to the airport after 2 weeks we were asked to pay for a full tank of petrol. It seems that the information had not been transferred properly when we were given the second car. Again, reluctantly this was waived. The car hire price was certainly one of the cheapest quoted and reviews suggested an excellent service. However, this was not my experience. Do yourself a favour and go elswhere for a few euros more.

Had you of contacted us at the time of collection, we would have liaised with Hertz on your behalf to ensure the smooth provision of an alternative vehicle.
For your reference, the fuel policy is set by the suppliers we work with and can vary. The fuel policy is always clearly stated both during the quotation and booking process and also on your car hire voucher which is emailed to you when your booking is confirmed. We also advise that due to refuelling logistics, you will be charged at a higher rate per litre compared to the normal pump price.
Please note that as a returning customer, you are able to log in to your account to see the selection of suppliers available, allowing you to select which supplier you wish to hire with.
