Returned a one day rent a car from Funchal (Madeira) airport, yesterday, provided by Sixt and have the following comments:
1) rented a Mercedez Vito people carrier, but was provided with a Volkwagen Transporter. I realise that the voucher says "..or similar", but there is a huge diference between the two. Wouldn't be surprised if I was to hear that Sixt don't even have a Mercedez Vito at this location..
2) picked up keys from Sixt desk, in airport and told where to find the car (one of the lower level car parks). No one showed me the car or checked its condition with me (or offered me a lift to the car park).
3) card provided to exit the car park barriers didn't work. Had to call information and ask them to open barriers.
4) the veicule had several issues, such as: big dent down right side of the car, big dent on the boot door, general scuffing on both rear and front bumpers as well as wing mirrors, right side indicator totally missing, button from radio missing, passager seats stained, wasn't sure about state of rear tyres, seat belt adjuster cover missing, petrol cap didn't shut properly...
Shall be making a complaint directly to Sixt and EconomyBookings.com
