The email I received from as a notification for my rental did not highlight that proof of address was required.
The lady at the counter was rude and not helpful. I explained that I had proof of address on my driving license both paper and photo ID card, also all my utility bills are electronic so are my bank statements so I did not have any. The lady at the counter then called car trawler and I waited 15 minutes and she did not say anything to me.. meanwhile asking me to complete a Debit/Credit card form and started serving other customers whom by the way also did not have any proof off address..

I then said to the lady while waiting for someone to answer from car trawler that I have electronic copies of my utilities bill and she said I had to email them. I emailed 3 copies of proof - 2 from British gas and another from virgin media and then was told that was not sufficient!

another worker came behind the desk and the lady starting talking in a foreign language and the man looked at me and they exchanged some words which were not in English and the man went away.. I found this very patronising and rude.

the lady then finally said the email proof I sent were ok... I was then asked to complete a form titled - debit and credit but told they only accepted credit card which I did not have.... my wife offered to use her credit card which was refused and another customer next to us told me they previously hired from the same person and hire company in same office by the same way I suggested but the lady said no to me.

Why did the form say debit/credit card if the company does not accept debit cards?

I asked for the terms and conditions of hire from the lady behind the desk and she did not give me the T & Cs and could not show me...

Also nowhere its stated how much Deposit they would take... non of the documents I received stated the amount would be over £1000! I know no hire company nationwide or local that asks for such a significant deposit for a small car....

all this time another colleague of the lady was serving other customers and making sarcastic comments against me and other customers which I found unprofessional and rude.

I was not given a car and they did not give my money back
