I never usually write reviews but chose to on this occasion because the team were helpful and reassuring as I was quiet stressed on arrival due to a short visit to attend a family funeral. Nice easy booking collection and return. One gripe I have is that we booked the night before we flew but the voucher was not emailed until the next morning meaning we had to get onto the internet in Gibraltar to get the details of who we were booked with. We also had to put down a 500 euro deposit. If we had not taken out the additional insurance sold to us on the site we could have paid 14 euros at the pick up point and not paid the deposit. The search page is great! Cheap offers and insurance cover included!! However, there was something that I wasn't told until I paid the rental, which is the provider's policy of having to buy the full fuel tank for journeys of 4 days or more mandatorily. Full tank was 92€, way too expensive!! I was told that 24€ were just for the service of filling it! All the rest of the experience was very positive and got even an upgrade on the car. Friendly, helpful and efficient service. Good car which was very fuel efficient - we did quite high mileage and only needed one small refill. Very happy with the process. Arrived at the airport, waited in line, filled out some paperwork then went to area to collect the car. Already had a few scratches and dents so took some photos, when I returned it later the next day the car wasn't even looked at (not sure of the process) but it all seemed to go through very smoothly and easily. We got a brand new Mercedes E Class with 10 km. on the mileage. The price was great too for a 9 day rent. But I think the agent & car rental need to be clearer about the insurance scheme, since we were confused by one of the emails' advice to decline the rental's insurance as already being covered by the extra coverage we bought at booking with ecarz. We booked the car to pick up the following day. We were surprised at how cheap it was(and double checked the fuel policy which was return it full)! We were slightly concerned they wouldn't have a car for us and when we turned up at the National desk (eCarz partner agent in this location) they didn't have our booking details. We had taken out the extra insurance to cover any excess through ecarz as they recommend that on their site. However when we came to pick-up the car in Majorca the local hire car company would not accept that we had the full insurance and would not let us take the car without paying an extra 40 Euros. I see that a few other reviews also mention this being a problem so I really think ecarz need to ensure that they only use car hire companies that will recognise the insurance they sell via... I just wanted to pick up a car and go. Pre booking allowed all the main questions to be answered before I got there. Once I provided my booking reference it was a quick process with a minimal of questions, the up selling was brief and I was on the road very quickly. The service was polite and efficient. Things started badley with a 90 min waite to collect car. There was a long queue and each person appeared to take a long time to process , even with 4 on the desk..
