Booked a `new` citroen C3 for pick up at Palma airport.We were kept waiting for about an hour whilst the one shuttle bus took us to the OkRental off site depot ..Other rental outfits had a steady stream of shuttles picking up clients.This did not bode well. We eventually arrived at the very off site depot-nearly in Central Palma.Hopeless, unwelcoming staff who were very keen to point out the risks involved if you didnt take out full insurance-extra.They also tried to charge us for an additional driver and car seat, despite a price already agreed at time of booking. The receptionist insisted that we would have to pay extra, eventhough my booking in front of her said otherwise.
We felt that we had to buy the additional insurance and thank goodness we did. Our car was not a new Citroen but a battered Peugeot 207 with considerable damage to the body work. I have no doubt that had we not taken out the extra cover, we would have been stung for the 500 euro excess.
At time of booking, I indicated that the car would be returned about 0745 hrs.When I clarified this, receptionist sai they dont open the depot until 08 00 but we could pay 30 euro for someone to come in early.We declined. We returned to depot at 0730 and the depot was open!Unbelievable attempt to further rip customers off.
Dont let a basic cheap upfront price dupe you into using this company. They are nothing more than rip off merchants and my advice is to stick to what you know. An absolute disgrace.
