“Avoid at all costs!”

Written on: 02/07/2014 by Frostmq451 (1 review written)

We booked 6 days carhire via holidayautos.com at a cost of eur77.00 incl insurance. to be collected from Del Paso car hire in Malaga. On arrival at Delpaso desk we were charged a further eur109.00, (eur39.00 extra insurance and a ridiculous eur70.00 for a full tank of unrefundable petrol!) The agent handed us paperwork saying this is the total car hire fee, (we got a small Fiat Panda!), but checked next day and the original eur77.00 was off my credit card! This fee well exceeded what our… Read Full Review

Wish I'd seen this review before hiring from Del Paso. 105 euros for diesel. Tank takes 53 litres @ 1.40 per litres = 74 euros. Also lost half my 300 euros for damage they allege I caused. A "small chip" on windscreen and cracked reflector (which was pointed out to them when I picked car up!!!)
Still trying to get money back. Heads and brick walls come to mind. Avoid them at all costs. Go for reputable companies. You're right - rip off merchants.

“MAKING MONEY THROUGH DECEPTION”

Written on: 26/06/2014 by STEWART2014 (1 review written)

We hired 2 cars from Malaga airport car rental (Car Trawler) one for my daughter and family, and 1 for us, my daughter got her car from Avis, we got ours from Del Paso, big mistake, my daughter got a brand new Renaut Captur, fuel-pick up full return full, which I had asked for on both cars, we got ours from Del Paso, a knackered old battered corsa, charged 90 euros for a tank of fuel as on 14 day hire they don't offer the full/full option. We returned the car, it was checked over by a member of… Read Full Review

Written on: 07/06/2014 by Nathaliep390 (1 review written)

I rented a car from Delpaso 15th - 26 April. We were offered extra insurance which we declined and paid the 450 euros deposit as we had our own holiday car insurance. On our return we dropped off the car and it was inspected no damage was found or reported to me. When I received my bank statement Delpaso had taken 298 euros from my account and sent me the invoice via email for damage to the vehicle. This is now being disputed through Car Trawler who's reviews are as equally as bad… Read Full Review

Seems to me they do this as a matter of course and invent damage to vehicles that have been rented. I'm trying to get back 150 euros.

“Watch out for Del Paso”

Written on: 12/05/2014 by bart45 (1 review written)

Hi all, I want to explain what happened to me so everybody can be warned NOT to rent a car at Del Paso car hire. This is what happened to me: On April 2nd, we rented a car at del Paso Car Rental for 3 weeks. The car was a Seat Ibiza or similar (group B) and we received an Opel Corsa. The employees from Del Paso were friendly at first and they kindly asked us the following at pick up: “You rented a car with us that has a Collision Damage Waiver insurance. For 75 EUR extra you can have full… Read Full Review

“Rip Off”

Written on: 22/04/2014 by Craigbt261 (1 review written)

Just returned from trip to Malaga and inadvertently used Del Paso, I had searched for a "full to full" petrol tank option and Argus came up but the local providers were Del Paso. Very unimpressed with them taking €98.34 for a full tank of petrol for a category A car which had to be returned EMPTY. I told them that I had booked a "full to full" option and they pointed to small print in the agreement that said this term only applied to 2-3 day rentals. In addition, they put tremendous… Read Full Review

“Avoid like the plague”

Written on: 21/04/2014 by Abagailq1967 (1 review written)

110 euro charge for fuel, and we only used half a tank, and no refund for unused fuel. Car was badly dented and scratched and waited ages at check in desk to collect. Travel frequently to the area and will definitely not use again… Read Full Review

“Avoid at all cost!”

Written on: 16/04/2014 by kaik7 (1 review written)

I wish I saw the opinions before we rented a car in Delpaso Malaga. There is a huge additional cost added to the initial rent: full tank (no possibility of returning a car with a full tank), additional insurance, second driver. All in all we paid more than we would have paid at the airport. We have got an old, tired car. Scratched, stained, with broken pieces inside. The hand brake wasn't working. The windscreen wipers were used and barely working. The car, though it had 3.0 liter engine would… Read Full Review

“Total rip off and no customer service ”

Written on: 13/04/2014 by Gary00007 (1 review written)

Between the cost and customer service I have not got any good things to put in this review , U will not make any saving compared to the airport car hire , and the 10 year old car they give us just managed to get us about with a few clinking noises ,, with plenty of scratches to go with it , BEWARE off there Hidden charges I would not recommend to any friends or family… Read Full Review

“Use at your financial peril!”

Written on: 24/02/2014 by Jimmydos (1 review written)

30 mins wait to be collected by courtesy van. One hour to get the car. A clapped out Kia Piccanto, top speed 80 kmph (100 downhill with following wind). Parts missing, stains on seats, iffy clutch and brakes and covered with dents and scratches. I took photos. When drawn to their attention the smug reply was that's what you pay your insurance for. 70 euros for a full tank of 35 litres ie 2 euros a litre (sold at 1.40 just 50 yards away. Very, very difficult to get to from south Malaga. I have… Read Full Review

“Ever never hire a car from DELPASO CAR HIRE, Malage”

Written on: 23/02/2014 by Disappointed_Customer_Feb_2014 (1 review written)

You will be charged 117 € - for a tank of fuel - and rerurn empty. Even if you only hire thew car for 2 days. All cars. For car like Renault Clio, Ford Focus etc. Size of car doesn't matter. You will have an old car - our car's mileage were over 80000 km If you have ordered a car like Opel minivan Zafira you will have a Renault minivan Kangoo - and many other stories - besides all the stories that can be told about insurance assault and deprivation of deposit etc A very good advice: stay… Read Full Review

“This is a rip off company”

Written on: 25/01/2014

I wish I had seen these reviews before we chose this company. All the same experiences with over priced fuel and outrageous under-return of deposit money, but were fortunate not to have anything that looked like a wind screen chip. This is a rip off company that seems quite happy to admit they are cheating you. Stay well away from it… Read Full Review

“DON't EVER USE DELPASO CAR HIRE!”

Written on: 23/01/2014

I rented a car in Malaga from Delpasso in Malaga, arranged through brokers Argus Car Hire. Big mistake! The vehicle they gave me was a heap! Almost every body panel was scratched, dented or spattered in paint. However they said that was the only car available, and that they had worse vehicles in their fleet! I pointed out a dozen defects that were not marked on their own inspection report. So then we came to the paperwork. Although the hire included CDW insurance I understood this did not… Read Full Review

“Expect to pay extra!”

Written on: 21/01/2014

Delpaso were similar to most other car hires in the area and I would have given them a much higher rating except for two things! Firstly, expect to wait quite a while at the airport for the bus to take you there. We waited about 30 minutes but there were others who were already waiting when we arrived so they must have waited a lot longer. In fairness on the way back we didn't wait at all and they were very prompt. Secondly, and this was the main reason why I wouldn't recommend them, is… Read Full Review

“In all the years I rented cars I never had this...”

Written on: 16/12/2013

In all the years I rented cars I never had this ecperience. First they charged 90 euro fuel for a small car. Next they wanted a depost of 300 euro because I refused extra Insurance. After returning the car undamaged they returned 250 euro on my creditcard without any explanation. Up till now they refuse to react on my mails. I advise never to do business with this company. … Read Full Review

“Avoid Delpaso”

Written on: 11/12/2013

A terrible experience! I have been renting cars in Malaga for 10 years and have just had my first bad experience. The company was Delpaso (who I had never used before) and I would advise anyone to avoid them like the plague. I booked through a broker and the quoted price was very low. When I went to pick up the car, I was charged 96eur for a full tank on a Corsa (real cost about 60eur) and a 300eur deposit. When I queried this I was told that with the low price I was paying they had to make… Read Full Review

“Don't hire here”

Written on: 27/11/2013 by marigot (1 review written)

They start charging you for the content of vehicles fueltank for €2,=/l. instead of normal price €1,40/l. with no refund for leftover fuel; its their first earning. After returning the car they examined the glaswindows like with a magnify glas and for sure they find something and keep the deposit. Because I protested they send a picture of a different screendamage to proof they had to repair it but the pictuer is definitely of different car. My advise; be always prepared to refuse a rental… Read Full Review

“Terrible Car Hire Experience”

Written on: 03/11/2013

At Delpaso Cars I had to wait 40 minutes outside a prefab in a dusty yard before I got to order my pre-booked car.I was then told the fuel price was 125 euros and when I complained that I was staying just 20 miles away and wouldn't be driving much I was offered an older car with the new fuel price of 97 euros. With a frustrated wife waiting and a queue forming I reluctantly took the Hyundai Getz 1.1 litre with poor air-con. The cost of fuel at pumps was 1.37 euros to 1.45 euros per litre and… Read Full Review

We had the same experience last week: rented a car for 45 euros, waited an hour (car was not available - they finally washed another car - at 10pm, of which the sliding door hardly closed) and paid 263 euro !! (40 euro for early drop oof, 123 euro for fuel, 60 euro for extra insurance "will you take the risk that we charge you 1000 or 10 000 euro??") Same story: they said they have to earn their money somewhere. We dropped the car at the airport early in the morning, couldn't fnd the place they wanted us to park (they have no officical car rental parking spot) We 've sent them an sms with the place where we parked (as instructed) and now I see they charge me an extra 25 euro on my creditcard!!!
