“BEWARE: AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!”

Written on: 26/10/2014 by yfLake1962 (1 review written)

Rent a car from them at your own risk! They will find any excuse to take money from your deposit and theres no point arguing because your back at the airport on the way to catch your flight home and they have your card details. They took €200 off my card for damage to a lock that was already on the car when we picked it up! The cars are generally old and I saw one or two that wouldnt have passed an MOT in England! Since renting from them I have heard so many horror stores about this company… Read Full Review

“Unsafe cars very rude staff”

Written on: 04/10/2014 by Gd1603 (1 review written)

i rented a car from Del Paso for 1 month, after 3 days the front wheel broke off while I was travelling at speed on the motor way. The breakdown vehicle returned me and the broken car to the depot where I was refused a replacement car or assistance of any type, it was only when I called the police that anything was done. I am still Aawaiting a refund and also the return of a further 100€ that was taken without authorisation from my debit card, as fa as I am concerned this company needs… Read Full Review

“Better than expected”

Written on: 30/09/2014 by Parksider (1 review written)

Was allocated Delpaso via economycarrentals.com. After reading the atrocious reviews on this web site, I nearly cancelled, but then took it as a challenge. Rental charge for 6 days was a mere 12€ but I knew they would make it up via fuel charges or loss of deposit. I emailed Delpaso and requested fuel charges for a Citroen C1 car and they replied quickly with "Service charge is 19Euros and the full tank of fuel depending on the model is between 52,50Euros and 67,50Euros. I took out excess… Read Full Review

“Delpaso experience”

Written on: 14/09/2014 by tarifafan (1 review written)

Just returned from our vacation in Spain/Andalusia, used Delpaso car during all the journey along (28-08 to 11-09). We got economy car (Seat Ibiza), it was in good condition, nothing to say else, it ran fine, total of about 1000+/- km. The fuel was provided on full-empty basis, so that you return it with the emtpy tank in the end, the conditions were that we pay for the full tank at the office desk. The only unexpected (not described in pre-rental conditions) thing was 25 euro service fee… Read Full Review

“DO NOT HIRE FROM DELPASO. SHARP PRACTISE. ”

Written on: 25/08/2014 by Catelyono (1 review written)

They sold us 'complete insurance'. They gave us a car full of scrapes and scratches (that also smelled very strongly if cigarette smoke) without paperwork detailing damages. When we returned the car they accused us of the damage. 'Sir where have you been in this car' said by the delpaso man with a tone of disbelief and accusation. We were not happy. We are a family with children and actually had been very careful with the car both whilst driving and choosing where to park. Having disputed his… Read Full Review

“avoid these people”

Written on: 20/08/2014 by HelenGoodwin305 (1 review written)

Dreadful old car. 95 euros for a tank of petrol in a car that can only take 50 euros. On return, attempted to take 300 euro deposit for tiny hairline imperfections to bodywork that was already battered to hell before I took the car. Luckily I had time on my hands before my plane departed and argued until they gave up. Dishonest people. Never go near them… Read Full Review

“Worst car hire in Malaga!!”

Written on: 12/08/2014 by Dutchman41 (1 review written)

I hired a car for three weeks with extra insurance, after two weeks the electronics in the door was broken so you could not open the door from the inside. We went back to Delpaso car rental and they gave us a new car, when we returned the car a week later they told is everything was oke and they brought us to the airport, until then I was satisfied with Delpaso. When I came back home and I looked at my creditcard statement the deposit was not yet refunded. When I contacted Delpaso they wrote… Read Full Review

“Rip off merchants! BEWARE!!!”

Written on: 11/08/2014 by perper2014 (1 review written)

The car was a piece of old junk fopr starters. They charge you €90 for a full tank of fuel which would cost you €60 at the pump. They are well known for making up some excuse to take money from your security deposit. In my case they said there was some sand in the boot and charged mne €40 to clean it. I told them most people will go to the beach when they holiday on the Costa Del Sol so they should expect a bit of sand! There was no sand in the boot that couldnt be vacumed in about 30… Read Full Review

“Rip off merchants”

Written on: 04/08/2014 by Wazzermazzer (1 review written)

Fuel policy is a rip off €110 for € 70 of fuel... Hassled the hell out of us to take their extra insurance and when we didn't the staff were stroppy... When I returned the car there were feint marks on The side of the car from bushes next to the road which I rubbed partly off with my finger ... They wanted to charge me 100 euros for a polish... When I asked for a cloth from their valet ing department so I could remove the marks they refused... They also charged me € 50 for a bulged tyre… Read Full Review

“Not for you, you don't get value for your money...”

Written on: 03/08/2014 by Zappafish (1 review written)

We got a bad Opel Combo or whatever. A pizza delivery car Wilhelmsen fire seats. It lokal Carl, and it SAS. The aircondotion leaked fluids, and the were some strange fumes steaming out of the ventilationsystem in addition to the strange sounds coming from the engine when we reached about 60 mph. This in addition to the fact that one of the seatbelts were broken, and there were thrash and garbage in the car when we got it. We reached our destination, called them up and got met with ignorance… Read Full Review

“I was surprised they were OK, fuel rip-off as expected”

Written on: 30/07/2014 by skarpetizdziuro (1 review written)

I picked them through the travel supermarket car hire comparison due to one of the lowest prices (7gbp/day) and low deposit (300eur). I read the terms and conditions and opinions so I was aware of the risk and fuel rip off. I bought insurance4carhire for a year for 38gbp just in case of scratches/crash/theft. I emailed them with a couple of questions before the rental but they did not answer. I refused to take the excess insurance from them and they were not insisting for me to take it. There… Read Full Review

“Stay away”

Written on: 23/07/2014 by Espenisaksen (1 review written)

5 time in Malaga, and have always rented a car frome different companies; record Cars, Sixt and Malaga cars. Never been any problems. Either they have given us the right category or bigger. But not Delpaso; they had only the smallest cars avalebel. No Peugot Partner or simular. So they told at least four families. They gave us some Ford Fiestas. And the worst; they had no problems doing that! Sorry they said, its not our problem! So people; choose another firm!… Read Full Review

“Avoid at all costs!”

Written on: 02/07/2014 by Frostmq451 (1 review written)

We booked 6 days carhire via holidayautos.com at a cost of eur77.00 incl insurance. to be collected from Del Paso car hire in Malaga. On arrival at Delpaso desk we were charged a further eur109.00, (eur39.00 extra insurance and a ridiculous eur70.00 for a full tank of unrefundable petrol!) The agent handed us paperwork saying this is the total car hire fee, (we got a small Fiat Panda!), but checked next day and the original eur77.00 was off my credit card! This fee well exceeded what our… Read Full Review

Wish I'd seen this review before hiring from Del Paso. 105 euros for diesel. Tank takes 53 litres @ 1.40 per litres = 74 euros. Also lost half my 300 euros for damage they allege I caused. A "small chip" on windscreen and cracked reflector (which was pointed out to them when I picked car up!!!)
Still trying to get money back. Heads and brick walls come to mind. Avoid them at all costs. Go for reputable companies. You're right - rip off merchants.

“MAKING MONEY THROUGH DECEPTION”

Written on: 26/06/2014 by STEWART2014 (1 review written)

We hired 2 cars from Malaga airport car rental (Car Trawler) one for my daughter and family, and 1 for us, my daughter got her car from Avis, we got ours from Del Paso, big mistake, my daughter got a brand new Renaut Captur, fuel-pick up full return full, which I had asked for on both cars, we got ours from Del Paso, a knackered old battered corsa, charged 90 euros for a tank of fuel as on 14 day hire they don't offer the full/full option. We returned the car, it was checked over by a member of… Read Full Review

Written on: 07/06/2014 by Nathaliep390 (1 review written)

I rented a car from Delpaso 15th - 26 April. We were offered extra insurance which we declined and paid the 450 euros deposit as we had our own holiday car insurance. On our return we dropped off the car and it was inspected no damage was found or reported to me. When I received my bank statement Delpaso had taken 298 euros from my account and sent me the invoice via email for damage to the vehicle. This is now being disputed through Car Trawler who's reviews are as equally as bad… Read Full Review

Seems to me they do this as a matter of course and invent damage to vehicles that have been rented. I'm trying to get back 150 euros.

“Watch out for Del Paso”

Written on: 12/05/2014 by bart45 (1 review written)

Hi all, I want to explain what happened to me so everybody can be warned NOT to rent a car at Del Paso car hire. This is what happened to me: On April 2nd, we rented a car at del Paso Car Rental for 3 weeks. The car was a Seat Ibiza or similar (group B) and we received an Opel Corsa. The employees from Del Paso were friendly at first and they kindly asked us the following at pick up: “You rented a car with us that has a Collision Damage Waiver insurance. For 75 EUR extra you can have full… Read Full Review

“Rip Off”

Written on: 22/04/2014 by Craigbt261 (1 review written)

Just returned from trip to Malaga and inadvertently used Del Paso, I had searched for a "full to full" petrol tank option and Argus came up but the local providers were Del Paso. Very unimpressed with them taking €98.34 for a full tank of petrol for a category A car which had to be returned EMPTY. I told them that I had booked a "full to full" option and they pointed to small print in the agreement that said this term only applied to 2-3 day rentals. In addition, they put tremendous… Read Full Review
