Advantage Cars at Ciampino airport, Rome, was closed when we arrived to pick up our car so we were unable to collect the car we had paid for. We were charged for the rental, as though this was a 'no show'. (Our flight was delayed and we were half an hour late. All the flight details were on the booking form but the company could not be bothered to wait.) Advantage cars are some way away from the airport, unlike Hertz and the other major car hire firms who are on site. It was noticeable that Hertz remained open for their customers who were also delayed on the same flight. Carrentals are refusing to refund our costs.
