I booked a car last minute with cardelmar, receive their confirmation, call their partner to know how to get there from the airport and they told me on phone that they did not have any car available and not to come. After driving the car from airport to hotel, the first car did not start on the second day of rental. Was told replacement car would arrive shortly. Spent all day at hotel waiting for replacement to arrive. Had to cancel activities, and in the afternoon, had to pay for taxis to visit the city. That evening replacement car finally arrived. I hired a car via Car Del Mar on the website to pick up from Goldcar Europa it was supposed to be a Duke although I am aware that in the small print they can give you another vehicle. We didnt get a Duke although we were told he had one, then litterally 5 mins later informed us that he was mistaken and he didnt have one. Booked a car for Iceland in August, I was assured I had a car with excess protected , paid over 600 Euros in resort for a stone chip which I am still waiting to be refunded. car Del mar tell me they refunded on 26th Oct and can take 20 days for a bank transfer from Germany to England. we rented a car from this company...tried to phone ahead to say we had been delayed...they had given us an out of date number..so arrived to NO Car...the agency Green Motion at Stansted kept my Wife ..who has advanced Alzheimer's and Iwaiting for an hour and a half,,,then told us to go away ! I can hardly bear to waste time explaining why you shouldn't use them. Here we go. Too few staff, so the wait at Barcelona airport was over an hour, just to get to the rental desk, which is off airport. Too few staff, so a two hour wait once we got there to pick up the car. When we returned, we waited an hour to hand the keys back and get a lift back to the airport (they only have one bus and one driver for both terminals), so we barely made our flight. I booked a car at Firefly Italy through Cardelmar, the car got stolen, Firefly took the deposit and some extra charges (see my review on Firefly) off my credit card, then I had to wait 2 months to get the deposit back from Cardelmar, for which I had paid extra to be covered.
