Booked a car with sunnycars in holland. Why not straight away at budget? Because the rates were better WHEN HAVING A FULL INSURANCE because sunnycars does a lot of business and therefore it works out cheaper. 78 euro for 5 days. All inclusive? Yes all inclusive!
Once at the servicedesk at Belfast airport: sir if you dont want the own risk of 850 gbp for damage at the car, you have to take an extra insurance. Discussion about sunnycars claiming that etc. No sir these fees always are shown at the desk itself, local.
Okay, standing there at the desk with a big suitcase... What to do? Just pay the extra 166 euro. 78 euro was a price to good to be true anyway. Said already i had to take the car because i had to go to a meetng. But would make a complaint.
Once back in holland, sunnycars and budgetbelfast got my complaint. Would be solved, but i should have called sunnycars at that moment. They are right in that perspective. On the other hand, in the discussion with the service employee, he kept on saying 'all customers' take the extras... Nit a single word that indeed sunny ( middleman) could have taken care of that.
Budget does businees with sunny a lot.
The most worrying thing: sunny claimed to take it up with budget but after a few mails i stopped. I got an upgrade voucher from budget. Of course they want to let me rent a car again.
With hertz 2 weeks later it didnt hurt :) clear overview, cheaper and no hidden extras. Budget normally is okay, but this incident makes me avoid any middleman and budget.
