Had our worst car rental experience ever with a 4 by 4 wagon rented in alice spring Europecar through bookinggroup.com.
Prices were quoted wrong with a dramatic base price + milage allowance difference (in around 500AUD). Prices and service condition quoted on the voucher are basically MEANINGLESS with the way Europcar and Bookinggroup.com handle their business and customers. Europecar "tricked" us into taking the car saying that we have the voucher to back us up when they will take the time to sort out the discrepancy. Upon returning the car we were then advised that we have to pay the higher price and claim back the differences from Bookinggrup.com. They threatened to call the police if we don't pay the full amount. We called BookingGroup.com and got the word of assurance that we will be refunded the difference for the wrong prices that they quoted. Needless to say it's a series of frustrating emails/phone calls that follow and at the end of the whole saga we were only refunded the booking fee at 60Euro.
Whatever good reviews they are getting here gotta be ingenuine. I hope more ppl will get to see my review and avoid them so that they go out of business asap.
