Hired a car in Pisa and dropped it off in Lausanne. Firstly, we paid for an Audi A3 mid size car but received a 'specially reserved' Citroen Picasso C3 with Swiss plates, which did not have a full tank of fuel. We were initially told the car was full but the gauge was faulty, however, after refueling the car ourselves it registered to the top of the gauge, unlike when we collected it at the airport. We drove to Geneva and asked to keep the car for 3 more days and specifically asked if we would be charged for returning it to Lausanne (there is an absurd 200chf charge if you are not aware). The only reason we continued for the extra days was because we were assured it would not be a problem. Liars. On returning the car we got charged the extra 200chf and were told to write to customer services.ch for a rapid response. What a joke 5 weeks later and still nothing.
My advise....NEVER trust Avis.
