Hired a car from Avis as part of a fly-drive package and wanted to leave the car at Avis's Fort Lauderdale location while on 7 days cruise. Avis said not possible and that I should park at cruise terminal for $15 per day, even though I am paying for the car but not using it for seven days, thus no wear and tear.

Asked them why I could not leave it at their secure depot and they said they could not guarantee any possessions left in the car. This is nonsense as I said there would not be anything left in the car. Also said they could rent to others during the period but they said could not guarantee giving me the same car on my return. I did not mind if a similar car was given in replacement.

I told Avis I would rather leave the car which was fully insured by Avis at the roadside or at an insecure lot rather than pay $105 parking fee. They did not seem to care
