ZERO STAR RATING is too good for Avis/Budget. In July I returned a Budget car in perfect condition and was told it was all paid and settled, but I would be charged for a quarter tank of petrol. Fine.
Then I noticed Avis had taken £803.36 from my bank account. I emailed Avis and Budget seven times and got no response. I finally telephone from abroad and was told it was a 'system error'.
More than a month later £758 appeared in my bank account - with no apology or communication of any kind. Another phone call established Avis kept £44.55 for the quarter tank of petrol - in a Fiestsa!!! That is the price of a full tank.
On principal I have tried to get a refund, but again my emails are ignored.
Had I not checked my bank account, I believe Avis would have kept my £803.36. I cannot speak lowly enough of Avis and Budget and will never hire a car from them again.
