Hired a Dacia Duster from Avis for 29 days from 3 May from Marrakech Airport at a cost £1800.Opted to take super cover insurance at a cost of £420.On 15 May as we were driving through a village,a child threw a stone which smashed the rear window.The incident was reported to the police,who attended,and the child was identified by the local schoolteacher,at the scene.The car was replaced.On 31 May returned the car to Avis Marrakech and told that there were no extra charges.On June 17 found that Avis had removed £120 for "various charges"Spoke immediately to Avis customer services who undertook to find out what these charges might be.Eventually told in late July that Avis Marrakech had been given until 28 August to explain themselves.Today told that Avis Marrakech is claiming that the damage occurred whilst the car was left in an unattended parking place and that the window was therefore uninsured.This is a downright lie,the damage having occurred while we were driving,and witnessed by an entire village.Have now had to contact our hotelier for corroboration of these events.So have now been trying to get a resolution for 10 weeks,with Avis customer care simply dragging their heels.This company Avis is unbelievable.How does it survive with such poor customer care and dodgy business practices? Not to mention how damaging this is to the Moroccan tourist industry,as we shall certainly be publicising this as widely as possible.
