Appalling rushed service at the Alice Springs airport counter. When I booked on line I did not request comprehensive insurance as my work covers that. Yet, this was included automatically in my paperwork. And I blindly signed it trusting that it was the same as I had requested online through the Qantas site. The woman did not ask if I wanted the extra coverage - and the cost effectively doubled. At the time what appeared as efficency at the desk was really a rush that discouraged me reading the paperwork and picking up this change. When I rang the AVIS staff (at the Alice Springs airport) they were completely unsymathetic. I will never use AVIS again as they cannot be trusted.
