Used Auto Europe to source a car in Ibiza (2012) - the quoted rental cost was competitive, approx £20 cheaper for a 4 day period on a Berlingo. There was no clear identification by Auto-Europe that the rental price did not include a host of extras that would be charged at the time of collection. The car rental partner provided by Auto-Europe was Goldcar - waited for approx 25 minutes at the airport for the shuttle bus to arrive to take us 10 mins to their collection point. We also had to wait 15 minutes at the airport as the driver of the shuttle bus wanted to have a conversation with his friend from another car rental company - I interrupted him and asked for him to get a move on which he did eventually. When we arrived at the Goldcar rental centre we had a further 1 hour wait until we could get anyone to process the paperwork (there was only 2 people in front of us! the staff were just not interested in quick service). At this point is when I was hit with a 100 Euro charge for fuel which was compulsory - having been to Ibiza several times, and knowing from a previous 2 week trip thats it is almost impossible to use even half a tank of fuel, I was furious - but the choice was clear - pay up or loose the prepaid rental cost. Insurance was also then requested at a further 60 Euros (which I refused having taken cover from a specialist online company at £9 before travelling). I have contacted Auto - Europe to ask why they are miss-leading the upfront costs of car rental through their site to undercut companies such as Avis, Hertz etc.....and then hit you with the actual costs further down the line - THEY HAVE SO FAR REFUSED TO CONTACT ME! FYI: if I had gone with Avis / Hertz / Europcar not only would the car be waiting for me at the airport, but I wouldn't have been penalised with the ridiculous E100 euro fuel charge - I returned the car having used only less that a quarter of the tank - MY ADVISE - DO NOT USE THESE TYPE OF COMPANIES - STICK WITH THE MAINSTREAM PROVIDERS DIRECT - IT WORKS OUT FAR CHEAPER, THERE ARE NO HIDDEN CHARGES AND THE CAR IS WAITING FOR YOU AT THE AIRPORT

Dear Sir,
When you make a booking online with Auto Europe you must confirm that the terms and conditions of the booking have been read and understood. It is in this section that it outlines the supplier local charges; as the charges are to be paid direct to the supplier we are unable to show them in any costing on the site, we can display only the Auto Europe charge.
We have a wide range of suppliers that we can use, including Hertz, Avis and Europcar and we do state their terms and conditions on our site also.
We are sorry that you feel the local extras were hidden away, however they are displayed online and on your car hire voucher. Should you require any further information regarding this you can contact our team customerservice@auto-europe.co.uk

JUST READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND CHECK THE LOCAL FEE'S AREA ONLINE DURING YOUR BOOKING AND YOU WOULD HAVE HAD ALL THE INFORMATION YOU NEEDED. ITS YOUR OWN FAULT.
