This is the worst car hire I have ever experienced in 14 years of travelling to Italy. I pre booked and rented a car from them at Perugia Airport in May 2013. We were given the most scratched and filthy car I have ever been offered, they refused to change it and told us if we weren't happy we could cancel but we would not get any refund. Subsequent to the rental, my credit card was abused by this company, I have incurred administration charges for supposed traffic violations and finally, in December 2013, I find out I have been falsely accused by this company of being the driver of a vehicle that has committed a traffic violation in Piedmont (a region of Italy I have never set foot in) on dates that I was home in the UK. The upshot of this latest episode is that I now need to try and prove my innocence because this company has falsified documentation and placed me somewhere that I never was.

The most worrying part of this is that this company, according to the many hundreds of online reviews and complaints that are on sites such as this, are systematically committing mass crime and nothing is being done to stop them. When you rent a car through them you have to give them your credit card details and In doing so you also sign documentation giving them permission to debit your card for charges that may arise at a later date, which makes it difficult to argue the charges with your credit card company. The best way to avoid being affected by Autoeuropa/Sicily by Car is to AVOID them at all costs and pay a bit more to hire through a reputable rental company.
