Step by step experience:
1. You do the booking online through Atlaschoice - when i read the T&Cs I could not find the 2 important details that you're bonding to as a customer:
- fuel policy
- insurance policy
The reason for this is that Atlaschoice acts as a intermediary and the car rent company (in this case Goldcar) obligues you to whatever they want later on (you only find out when you're at the counter)
2. Terrible queue to pick up the car (mainly bc everyone gets into a fight with the person behind the counter when they find out the "trick")
3. Person behind the counter is moody and not helpful
4. The "trick" (that you find out at the counter):
- fuel policy: you pay for the full deposit upfront (97€) and then you'll be refunded whatever the car rental decides you haven't used (I still don't know how much and when my refund will be bc they don't tell you when you return the car). This is NOT negotiable, you have to pay the full amount upfront.
- insurance policy: you are given 2 options: pay 75€ to be fully covered, or pay a deposit of 1000€ that will be returned to you later (when? They don't tell you. Sometime after you've returned the car). I doubt anyone will pay such a massive amount upfront, so you're basically forced to pay a full insurance on 75€...
NEVER AGAIN. I'D RATHER GO THE USUAL RENTAL PLACES THAT I KNOW WILL BE A BIT MORE PRICEY UPFRONT BUT AT LEAST I KNOW WHAT I WILL BE CHARGED WITH NO HIDDEN T&Cs.
