We arrived late at night in Florida and went to collect a pre booked and prepaid luxury large car! We were told they didnt hire such cars despite a picture of one in their poster at their desk.
After much discussion during which they told us that our car was not prepaid. When we showed our receipt for the payment they eventually gave us a larger 4x4 at no extra charge!
This took nearly an hour of wrangling with the manager to allow weary travellers with young children to get to our final destination.
When dropping the car off after 14 days we were presented with a bill for £1400! The on duty manager denied that our larger car was upgraded due to their incompetence and poor customer service on our arrival!
As we had a tight schedule to catch a flight home we managed to obtain a reduced payment!
Overall we ended up paying nearly £ 3000 fog 14 days hire!
Luckily our fantastic travel agent back home managed to recover all the extra charges we paid!
Our friends who were also travelling in Florida had a very similar problem .
Alamo in my opinion are an appalling ,dishonest and greedy company. Staff very rude and unhelpful!
I would advise anyone to think twice before using this company !
