“Unacceptable customer service handling refund request”

Went smoothly with the car rental once we arrived. But we called ahead to change the reservation to one less day and when asking the car rental place about a refund, they directed us back to the booking website. We were then told, after the fact, that they didn't do refunds for unused days. It is not an unused day if I called ahead to change the reservation. Why would a car rental office tell us that the booking company would refund the money if they wouldn't? There is a serious lack of communication about booking and changing reservations. Will not use this service again as they have no problem taking your money...

“Bate and Switch”

Reserved a car LAX. Car was located in Venice, 10 miles away. Had to hire a taxi ($27) and pay a drop off fee ($50). Not what I reserved on line with Airport Rental Car and Sixt. Will not go through Airport Rental Cars and Sixt again. Also car was dirty and not ready.

Reserved as SUV for my wife to drive for a week through this website and after driving over 15 miles to get the vehicle was told they did not have any cars. I asked to rent anything and was told that the company usually overbooks the rentals and he already had 20 rentals coming with 4 cars available. A total waste of time and energy. Can not believe people can conduct business in this fashion in this day and age. Stay away from these company.

“Bait and switch”

Signed up for one rate for 2 days and got charged almost the same total for one day. At first I thought I had made an error but the daily rate was very different. Also amazing they want to charge 2 days of insurance for what was now a one day rental. Unbelievable. Tried to call the customer service line immediately and got voice mail asking asking to leave name and number. I just cancelled

“Third party insurance”

This company is only out to take your money by putting a third party insurance when you rent car. You think you are paying for insurance through car rental co, your not. No where when you book do they tell you your getting athird party insurance and when you find out and try to cancell third party insurance. They tell you its not refundable. Watch out for this co DO NOT RENT from them. Go directly throught car rental co web site

“Do not waste your money”

I had never rented a car before so I decided to go through airportrentals.com When I got to cancun the rental car company told me that the insurance I had bought was not enough to cover for the damages. They gave me a different quote of $200 aside from the money I had already wasted here. I told the company to take me back to the airport where they had picked me up since I had already gotten a different quote with another company. The other company gave me a quote of $178 dollars with insurance included and $0 deductible. My advice to anyone reading this post is not to rent through third party companies and go directly with the rental companies at the airport and compare prices. I was afraid of not finding a car at the last minute that is the reason why I did it online. At the end I lost $70 dollars because I did it online.

“TERRIBLE COMPANY -REFUSED SAME DAY REFUND ”

Deceptive Unethical AirportRentals.com refused to refund a $30 Credit Card "deposit" when I cancelled the reservation same day it was made. They claim the rental terms and conditions allow them to keep the deposit. Complete Bull. The full terms and conditions for refund follow. "Refund Policy We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle." Will dispute the charge via my credit card.

“paid for a large car and got a medium car”

Launceston, Tasmania. Waited 30mins for a pick up after calling twice. Waited another 30mins for car to be prepared. Car was relatively old for a rental at 30k. Tried to sell me more insurance at counter. In the end, paid a 300 deposit, awaiting refund. BOoked a toyota aurion or equivalent and ended up with a holden malibu which is a size smaller. Usually you get upgraded and not downgraded for the price you paid. but I am not letting this ruin my holiday yet...

Hi, This website sell car rental without any insurance, and if you go to pick up the cars, the car rental company will say you have to have insurance cover, so they sell you very expensive insurance. The price in the website look cheap sometimes, but finally you have to end up paying much more. I used this company many times, but I just find out their tricky, please totally avoid them

Not the car pictured. Needed five passenger car as illustrated, not what they wanted to give me at the airport. Was told the car they were giving me was not even safe for much traveling! Finally gave in and paid for upgrade what else do you do at 10:00PM in BWI? This is the second time this has happened with this company who, after I called them,told me the car I ordered, per illustration, was not what I was going to get so no one took responsibility for anything. Bait and Switch all the way!!

Believing my rental costs were $66 total, I proceeded to grab my ankles in a third world country (with no other options) and pay out more than $500 above and beyond what the AirportRentalCar company charged me. After reading the agreement over and over again, I still am unable to find any reference that I must also pay Dollar Rent a Car and extra $500 in "fees". Never again!

“Not located at airport”

My husband is a disabled Veteran Senior Citizen and I am also disabled. We live on a tight budget and had an opportunity to travel from Oregon to Florida to see our Grandson. When I booked the car rental through Airportrentals.com I believed that I was actually renting from a respectable company. What followed was a disaster. When we arrived at the Budget counter at the Ft Lauderdale airport we were politely informed we were at the wrong location. They could rent us a car for another $200.00 above the current $150.00 we had agreed upon. ???? We were lucky enough to have befriended another person on our flight who drove us to the location address on the reservation. The GPS system took us to another incorrect Budget location 18 miles away from the airport. Now we are stranded in a town we have no idea where we are and are dragging a damaged suitcase, a walker and one very angry disabled senior citizen. Not much of a savings if you have to pay for a taxi to and from the car rental location. Sent on a wild goose chase to locate the actual rental pickup. I passed 2 other thrifty locations before I got to the correct location. Two taxi trip just to pick up the car and now I am looking at another taxi ride from the car drop off to the airport. NO SAVINGS and no customer service unless I want to pay another $300.00. No customer service no respect. Do not use unless you like stress and disrespectful customer service!!!

“Actual charge with E-Z more than twice higher”

Booked car with AirportRentalCars.com/E-Z Rent-a-car and got fare USD74 for 3 days rent in LA, but forced by E-Z people to pay USD177 (adding up "mandatory" state insurances) - since I arrived there with luggage and didn't have any other options, I paid and after returning back home I opened a dispute with them asking why they can't show real value, but it seems this is their regular practice to attract customers with the low rates and then let rental company charge them for much more, having no responsibility for this. Very Negative Overall feeling, winn NEVER recommend anyone to deal with them.

“Worst rental car company EVER!!!”

Reserved two 5 passenger vehicles that had space for three bags in each vehicle. Called the rental car company that was to provide the vehicle and found out that what we would actually be getting were two four passenger vehicles. We were traveling as a group of nine people, and would not be able to go anywhere. I called airport rental cars immediately and talked to many of their customer care representatives, all of which verified that we had in fact reserved two five passenger vehicles. In fact, there were not ANY four passenger vehicles listed on the website. I was informed that my case would be reviewed by "opps", and resolution would take 3-5 business days. Today is the fifth day, and after talking with their representatives again today, I was told that it would take a few more days. We leave in three days, and two of the days are the weekend when their representatives will not be at work. So frustrated with their misinformation and lack of progress. We have the cost of nine plane tickets, a house rented for two and a half weeks, activities and many other things already paid for. We stand to lose upwards of twenty thousand dollars if we can't get vehicles that will accommodate our family of nine. Do not book with this company!!!

Never book through this website. As a portal you don't need to pay anything to this website. The time I was booking, I thought that I am paying the real car hiring company, but it is not the case. I think it is much cheaper to higher directly from the well-known companies rather than this cheap unreal offer. The quote a price, and they are going to charge you almost double.

“wrong airport - be vary wary”

Three weeks ago, I made a reservation using this service. After checking the box for O'Hare (Ord), I called the airportrentalcar number to verify the extremely low price I was getting. The person confirmed everything for me and wished me happy travels. I got to O'Hare and waited in a two hour line at Budget only to be told that my reservation had been booked through Midway Airport. Since I had no way to get to Midway, I had to rebook using Budget counter and it was about $100 more than rate on airport rentals. I was livid. Do not use this company. I wish I had read all of the negative reviews before purchase. Of I could.give zero stars I would.

“Estimated price way lower than actual price”

The site looks great. You think it's comparing prices from all the companies to deliver you the best price but I ended up paying double the estimated price. When I realised the full cost I had little choice but to pay up as I was in a rush. Next time I will be renting directly with a company where the cost is agreed in full beforehand.

“delegate company”

Very bad assistance: I booked with them, then they redirected booking to another company(arguscarhire) that for the same price wanted to give to me 2 category low. So after 10 days (I wrote to them and they didn't answer) I deleted booking and they charged me with 25€ and still now Airportrental hasn't done nothing. If you change conditions of contract, the contract is not valid so they can't take off money. So AirportRentalCars takes money without manage your booking.
