The rental agent refused to acknowledge my existing insurance and extorted us into paying for their insurance. Avoid these unlawful people. LAX Westin is damaging their brand by associating with them.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT rent from NU Car Rental in Charlotte Airport without reading ALL reviews posted by (UPSET) customers. The initial impression was very impersonal as they made you interact with someone (remotely through a computer) with a LIMITED english understanding who asked me to continue the conversation in Spanish. It was obvious to me that they wanted to cut corners and offer a terrible customer experience by having people in Latinamercan countries, like Panama, Venezuela, or Colombia. I am hispanic myself and don't have anything against Hispanics, but the interaction was odd and unpleasant. I acted in good faith by inquiring about going to Greenville in SC for visiting, but the gentleman told me there was an EXTRA $60.00 charge for traveling out of the NC State and if I was to cross the state Lines, I had to incur in a $1,000 fine. I immediately refused the charge, but they told me it was too LATE for the charge to be removed. I requested to speak to the manager, and a lady who was listening all along to the interaction and represented to be the (owner) of the establishment, came out from an office telling me and my wife she DID NOT want to rent the car to us. Unfortunately, we didn't read the reviews and were attracted to the price, but we really paid the consequences. Do yourself a favor and go rent from the people from EASIRENT, 704.800.4288, better price on the spot and great customer service. We are planning to escalate the matter to the NU Car Rental corporate office and EXPEDIA through our attorney to prevent this horrible and humiliating experience to future NU Car Rental customers. As we continue reading the reviews, we found out that CHARGING EXTRA to customers is a common practice of this business.

I rented a vehicle paid for 3 months in advance, insurance included. When i was at the counter, the miserable in charge offered me another additional insurance. I refused. Ah, the problems began. They told me "i have to call the supervisor to approve" i said... "approve what?"..... After 10 minutes on the phone they started making stupid excuses..... They said that when they swiped my card credit card for security deposit, my card was declined twice. I called my bank from the offices and my bank told me that my card was not blocked. I asked them to try again. They did not want. I offered them another credit card and they told me no, they could only swipe one card and only 2 times. Then they told me that i could only use the card with which i had made the reservation. They did not give me the vehicle!!! I asked the miserable at the counter to give me proof of the rejection of my card but the miserable told me that he couldn't give me anything. do not rent with this garbage company because you will regret it. I have a letter from the scotiabank bank, assuring that the day of the rental my card was not refused, that there was not even attempt to use the credit card by the nu provider!! because of those miserables i had to rent another vehicle that same day in another company and it cost me 430 extra dollars when i had paid them 3 months before to nu!!! Weeks after i posted my review, the stupid answer they have is that my credit card had issues... Well, the letter of scotiabank, a worldwide first class bank, says different. They said my card was never swiped that day..... I have read reviews posted in some other pages and they have in average, less than 1 out 5 point... Less!!!!

We rented a car through Travelocity with this company. We were going to Las Vegas to a softball tournament. I rented the car 3 weeks before . They called us on the way to the airport to tell us they would not have a car available for us. When we got to Vegas there were no cars available any where. We had to travel about 18 miles out of town.

We had made a reservation on line for a period of 29 days of car rental in Orlando and had already paid for it in full including insurance. When we arrived and gave the reservation with confirmation number and cost, the first thing that the employee did, was to show surprise for the number of rental days. He asked where we found that reservation, we said on line, and then he said that the insurance was not valid in the USA, let me said that the name of the insurance company did not appear anywhere in the reservation. He said we had to cancel that insurance with the Booking company and buy their own insurance. While he was speaking to us he asked where we were from, we said Mexico and then he started treating us in a very discriminatory way making remarks about the country and assuming that because we are senior mexican citizens we do not know how things are in the USA and the world. We wanted to speak with the manager and he put us in contact on the phone with a woman who asked for confirmation number and as I was looking for it in the paper she said in a very sarcastic tone "good bye" and hung up on me. The treatment we received was horribly racist and discriminatory because of our age and nationality. At the end after we spoke to the Booking Co. and tried to cancel the reservation (that company said it was not possible) the rate including insurance was going to be over 500 euros of what we had already paid. NÜ employee refused to give us his name, or the manager. All the time he was making up things about how American Express, and insurance companies work and function, and he was just insulting our intelligence all the time. At the end because our reservation was not honored, we had to go back to the airport and look for a car rental wich was a huge inconvenience. PEOPLE DO NOT RENT CARS FROM THIS COMPANY?

We found this place on car rentals . com --Never again! We prepaid for an exciting extremely low price. When we got there - they took an hour to fill out forms and verify insurance coverage. AFTER- all that they say- you are from Florida- to use a debit card- we need a 500 DOLLAR DEPOSIT. Those deposits can take many days to be returned and we were outraged at the fact that this information wasn't made clear when we called, or booked online. Then they say- they won't be able to refund us- we have to get it from the website online.-- car rentals . com --We did not receive a service, but you're okay with keeping our money? Also--- the place we did end up renting from (down the street on 6th)--was wonderful- gave us no problems- was quick like a bunny- the people were kind, friendly and funny-- the car was so clean it smelled new and the maintenance was amazing! While we were waiting for our car- we discovered they have an onsite garage- every car gets a checkup after every rental! Also they have an onsite gas pump= so every car in rented with a full tank- so its easy to return- you just fill it. This place NUCAR- the tank is how ever you get it and you have to play gas tank games to return it the same. Sheer laziness on their part! They are NEXT DOOR to a gas station!!!!

Rented a car in Boston MA though Expedia, thinking that it would be reputable...............stay away from this company! They state that they have modern cars - received a five year old vehicle that needed an oil change. Called so called customer service to see what they had in place to accomplish this oil change as it was an 1 1/2 hour drive back to Boston. We were told that we needed to get it changed and they would reimburse.............what a joke. The car was returned without the oil changed because we told them unless they were going to fairly compensate us for having to go out of our way, we weren't doing it! We were supposed to be contacted by the owner of the Boston franchise, which never happened! There was no compensation offered either - would NEVER recommend this company to anyone - shame on you Expedia for even having this company on your site and to the so-called Boston NU Car Rental franchise - worst customer service ever!!!

This is my problem with this company. When I arrived to this company they were so busy they did not have time to do anything except rush us through the process. I was never advised about not being able to pay tolls with cash or credit card. We assumed that the company has a system in place for this. When I returned the car no one said anything. One month later we get a bunch of emails with unpaid tolls. I called the toll roads and the dmv and they advised me that the plate was not registered so they could not get the bill to the owner of the car until it was late. If NuCar would have had their plates registered, they would have been able to charge me the approx $50 in tolls without any issues. But since they let this go on for one month, there are late fees. Then they are trying to charge an additional $75 per toll as an admin fee. Finally, I have a $1,500 pending transaction on my Amex card that no one can tell me what it is for one month after my rental. I of course would like to pay the tolls I have that are due, but they are taking $50 in fees and turning them into $2,000! I have already contacted Amex and disputed everything. NuCar wrote in their email to me a threat that if I disputed the charges they would charge an additional $75 in fees! This company is absolutely the worst, they trap you into a corner and I have read so many bad reviews about this same issue. If they would register their plates and give an option to rent an electronic toll charging device, this would all be prevented. But they did not even mention this to me as the consumer. I am from Florida and have no idea how this works in their State. They do not give the consumer ANY option to pay a toll and they are a car rental company?! This has to be going on with so many people, why would they not fix the issue instead of letting this go on like this? I assume they provide low rates and like to charge these admin fees to make up for their money. Absolutely the worst customer service. I finally got a manager on the phone named Tee who said he was going to pass my info to another department and have them contact me?! This company cannot continue to operate like this and trap people. I would like a place to file a negative complaint. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, consumer affairs, State Of California and anyone else who is a governing body of this type of consumer abuse. I am a responsible traveling business professional and have NEVER had this problem with any other company! I will never again use a small company like this.

I had booked what I thought was a great deal on Expedia for a car rental from NU car rental in Mississauga, ontario. The rental was for a full size, but when we arrived the agent said they only have midsize and there is nothing he can do and will not be giving back credit. we agreed simply because we were in a rush. The agent then coerced us to purchase their insurance and said we have to purchase it if we want a car. we argued the fact that we have our own insurance. he then forced us to call our insurance company to get details on coverage including liability, etc and we did. We asked him what is the requirement since he is asking all this detail. his response was sorry these limits are not within the min requirement of the company. we then asked him to provide us the contract/policy indicating those minimums and his response was "sorry can't show you the detailed contract until you sign the acceptance of the car" absolutely ridiculous!!! We agreed to raise our limits with our insurance company to meet "their requirement" then his response was "sorry this is not going to work because I don't feel safe giving you one of our cars" What kind of customer service is this? To escalate matters, another customer came in while we were there asking why he is not getting his deposit back and he was told "there are a couple scratches that were not there at pick up". the customer started yelling saying it is in the walkthrough marked on the sheet that it was prior damage and they claimed " it is not the same as original scratch" Beware, we ended up not getting the car and probably a wise decision.

I made a reservation in orlando, Fl location. I reserve a minivan at 8 pm. When I went there, they states they don't have it. They asked me to go back at 6 am and talk to Ray. He was supposed to give me a good deal for the inconvenient. They also told me that they have a minivan that was going to be ready for me. They told me they were changing the tires. When I went there the next morning. They told that was a lie, they had no mini van on the repair shop. They told there were other 2 reservations that were paid in advance that were waiting for minivans. The manager only told me to look on my own for a car rental around that area. He did nothing else. I had to leave the office without a car and I had to pay about $140.00 more for a car in another place. Because of nu, I was late for my trip to Miami. Please, don't make the same mistake. It is not worthy.

Charge a hidden $400 + deposit and DON'T offer any toll tags for out of state renters. Once you get the toll citations (massive) they charge $75 for the service of delivering the citation to you. Great. They are absolutely the worst company I've ever come into contact with. In any industry. Ever. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. I wish I could rate them lower.

I rented a mid size car for a week in San Juan PR and purchased the additional insurance from Expedia two weeks ago (1/30/14). The rental center is locate in Isla Verde approximately ten minutes from the airport by shuttle bus in an inconvenient business area sharing a crowded parking lot. The office is drabby looking with few chairs. At the time there was one attendant using a laptop. Expect a long wait if someone is ahead of you. After handing the attendant my confirmation for the rental as well as the insurance information I was told they did not accept the insurance I had purchased from Expedia and would have to purchase there insurance and call Expedia to cancel their insurance. I thought this was a little unusual but figured it was not much of an inconvenience. I did not however, agree with the fact that I would be obligated to pay for their version of the " Easypass" known as the Auto Express if I had planned on driving on tolled highways. The attendant told me I could not pay out of pocket and I would be charged $100 for every toll I paid for without activating their Auto Express at $7 per day unlimited use. Because I had planned on driving on the expressway across the island I felt compelled to pay the additional $56 for the eight days regardless of using it for two days which amounted to less than $15 dollars. I told him this was an unjustified practice and he claimed other car rental companies are doing the same thing. I disagreed. In their defense I must say the Nissan I rented was fairly new and clean although, upon returning the car it was an inconvenience having to wait for an attendant at the parking lot to let me through the gate. Next time I'll pay the extra dollars and rent from a reputable company.

I rented a car from a new car rental company called "Nu Car Rentals d/b/a FastTrack" located in the Four Points Sheraton at LAX. When I rented the car, there were many angry customers that had been waiting for hours to pick up their cars and many customers left. I stayed & waited over 90 minutes to get my car as they had "ran out of cars," so they had to drive one over from the dealership. The car was dirty on the outside as it had been sitting on the lot & so I did not notice any damage on the car at that time. The car rental place had hardly any workers, and they had a lot of very strange paperwork to fill out that is not normal for a car rental place. Instead of just photocopying my insurance & drivers license, they had me fill out separate piece of paper with my deductible, my coverage for liability, and said I could not take the car out of the state despite unlimited mileage, which was not disclosed in advance. When I returned the car, I was late for my flight at LAX. I left the car keys as there was a long line of people and they could not wait on me. 30 minutes later they called and said I had damaged the car. I got in a cab, paid to go back to the car rental place to discuss this with the manager. The gentlemen at the counter refused to help me, refused to give me the managers or owner's information on a business card OR on a piece of paper and said he would not help me unless I waited in line. I went out, looked at the car and saw some small scratches once I wiped the dirt off the car with my hands. I do not believe I am responsible for this and believe the Nu Car rentals is asking for customers deductibles so they can file fake claims for damages that were already on the car. By refusing to give me the managers name, I feel the company was very shady. When I returned to the location, there were more customers yelling at the car company just like they were when I rented the vehicle. Now they are filing a false claim with my insurance. This is the shadiest car rental service I've ever dealt with, and by refusing to give me the manager's or owners information at the time of return, I am telling my insurance not to pay this claim. Now it makes sense; I wondered why they were asking for all this extra information such as how much my deductible was, and now I know that it was so that they could file false claims. They also did not disclose in advance that the car could not be driven in any other states despite unlimited mileage. I was patient and waited a LONG time to pick up this car since you had "run out" of rentals. AND I paid a cab to drive all the way back over to their office, only to be told I would not be worked with unless I waited another hour in line, which would have forced me to miss my plane. I asked to be waited on if I drove over and they said they would "show me" the damage, and then refused to wait on me when I arrived, knowing that I had a plane to catch. To deny a customer the written information of the manager or owner when asked for is not right. I have also alerted the hotel management to your bad business practices as well since eventually I'm sure the business will reflect poorly on the hotel, which looked very nice. I have also filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau, and urge others to do the same. Clearly, I won't ever be doing business with this car rental service again.
