May be worth your money, but not your time.
I have read these reviews and will wholeheartedly concur with each of the negative ones. There's a reason they're cheaper than the rest. Probably to make up for all the negative reviews. But I will gladly pay more for a company that doesn't give me this much headache.
Jon Basir IS the worst manager. His staff is horrible. The way the business is run along with the way they handle communication will just be nothing but a headache.
The first incidence I had (and yes, there are plenty) was from day one when it took 30 minutes to pick me up. I had to keep calling and calling the guy, and he ended up sounding annoyed. I apologize for wondering where you are when you're telling me you're going to be there in 5 minutes. I went to pick up the car (which took an hour in itself to get in and out of there, and their office just looks shady, so I already got a bad feeling), and they said I had an after hour pick up fee since they close at 9 pm. I told them that in my confirmation email, it states that they close at 11 pm, so I shouldn't have the fee. Took care of that.
Then I went to return the car which was before they opened since my flight was leaving early, so I made sure I knew exactly where I should return it. Called them during my layover to make sure everything was taken care of, and they said they didn't get the car. I explained where I was told to put it, so they said they'd check and get back to me. Left me a message saying they got it and to call back on Monday with my CC info. Did that, and I didn't hear from them after two days, so I called once again, and I spent 30 minutes on the phone verifying my information over and over again when I was just told they needed my CC info, so for me, it was a pain. They said things were set, so we hung up. Called me later and left a message saying the CC didn't go through. Called the next day, and the guy kept screwing up the number I was giving him, so that was just a pain to keep repeating myself over and over again.
Now I am waiting for my security deposit to go through and hope to get this whole thing over and done with.
I'm also upset that I filled the tank all the way when I didn't needed to (that's just me venting). What you get for being nice sometimes...
PS: They will also charge your card at their discretion for different types of fees, so make sure to read the fine print that all small companies try to get you with.
I will definitely be putting the money down on a company that's well respected as opposed to these scumbags.
