“Horrible Don't Waste Your Money!!!!!!!”

Horrible Just Horrible!!!!!!! I would give them -5 stars if I could. My family and I planned a road trip to Vegas.I took the bus there and they gave me wrong directions on where to get off. So I called to have them pick me up from the Westin since I had walked so far. I took them 45 min to get me. The guy gave me a Camry and I didn't make a hour before we noticed the car shook when braking. I called to let them know. I was told they didn't have anymore cars and if I came back they would put it in the shop and I could wait for it . I asked for a refund,the guy said they couldn't reverse the charges . They had over $500 dollars of my money! So upset I went back. They had a gas guzzling Town Car when I got there. It looked like his personal car. The office manger tells me he upgraded me for free. ( yeah right!) We were in traffic 5 hours because of our late start and that car took $75 to fill up.During my trip I called to find out was I to bring the car back the same time as I picked up the second carwhich was 12pm he tells me no I needed to return it by 10am the time I got the first car or pay another day worth of fees.. I asked for his manager he tells me he is at the other office. I call the other office and he answers that phone too! OMG! When I returned the car they tried to charge me an extra 18 dollar for gas on the first car. I exploded!How the hell do I owe gas on your car when it broke down on me! After cussing everyone out he tells me he would wave the fee this time (such BS) I ended up paying for another day and extras gas. I was out of pocket an extra $150 dollars and still never met the manager or spoke to them. Don't give this Micky Mouse operation your money. They run everything from on cell phone and thier customer service sucks! Save your money!

“DO NOT RENT from AT WEST RENT A CAR.”

May be worth your money, but not your time. I have read these reviews and will wholeheartedly concur with each of the negative ones. There's a reason they're cheaper than the rest. Probably to make up for all the negative reviews. But I will gladly pay more for a company that doesn't give me this much headache. Jon Basir IS the worst manager. His staff is horrible. The way the business is run along with the way they handle communication will just be nothing but a headache. The first incidence I had (and yes, there are plenty) was from day one when it took 30 minutes to pick me up. I had to keep calling and calling the guy, and he ended up sounding annoyed. I apologize for wondering where you are when you're telling me you're going to be there in 5 minutes. I went to pick up the car (which took an hour in itself to get in and out of there, and their office just looks shady, so I already got a bad feeling), and they said I had an after hour pick up fee since they close at 9 pm. I told them that in my confirmation email, it states that they close at 11 pm, so I shouldn't have the fee. Took care of that. Then I went to return the car which was before they opened since my flight was leaving early, so I made sure I knew exactly where I should return it. Called them during my layover to make sure everything was taken care of, and they said they didn't get the car. I explained where I was told to put it, so they said they'd check and get back to me. Left me a message saying they got it and to call back on Monday with my CC info. Did that, and I didn't hear from them after two days, so I called once again, and I spent 30 minutes on the phone verifying my information over and over again when I was just told they needed my CC info, so for me, it was a pain. They said things were set, so we hung up. Called me later and left a message saying the CC didn't go through. Called the next day, and the guy kept screwing up the number I was giving him, so that was just a pain to keep repeating myself over and over again. Now I am waiting for my security deposit to go through and hope to get this whole thing over and done with. I'm also upset that I filled the tank all the way when I didn't needed to (that's just me venting). What you get for being nice sometimes... PS: They will also charge your card at their discretion for different types of fees, so make sure to read the fine print that all small companies try to get you with. I will definitely be putting the money down on a company that's well respected as opposed to these scumbags.

“Reading some of the reviews on the internet of Atwest,...”

Reading some of the reviews on the internet of Atwest, I was cautious renting from them. However it is one of the only (If not the only) places in the US that rents to people under the age of 21.

Their office is located close to the airport and is equipped with plenty of books, magazines and brochures about local goings on. It also has a fresh water cooler.

The man, although clearly very busy, was very polite, helpful and down to Earth. He brought our car around and showed us around. The air conditioning was unfortunately broken however this could be easily fixed by a recharge at a local garage and Atwest would repay back with a receipt.

The car was a Ford Mustang and was brilliant to drive, in good condition and had a relatively low number of miles on it.

We returned the car on our day of departure and the man at the office immediately took us back to the airport.

My overall experience (August 2010) of Atwest was really good. Unfortunately there seems to be a large number of negative reviews circulating the internet. Remember Atwest is a relatively small company competing with some of the biggest car rental companies in the World.

As with comments saying their cars are bad etc. I also found this to be untrue - of all the cars I could see parked up were in reasonable condition and ours certainly was pretty much spot on.

I would use Atwest again, especially for under 21s. I hope this review provides more of an impartial and up-to-date idea of my experience.

“I had rented a car from Atwest Rent a Car in...”

I had rented a car from Atwest Rent a Car in LosAngeles, CA and received the worst service and treatment from the Owner himself. This company should be out of BUSINESS! The condition of the car was not safe to drive. The maintenance lights were on, and the engine lights appearred. After returning the car after hours, the owner yelled at me asking why I couldn't drive the car in that condition. After exchanging the car and returning the car to the company after hours in the parking lot, the owner charged my account without notifying me for a locksmith after the customer service rep informed me to lock the car when dropping it off. Then the owner yelled at me and said I was the "worst customer ever" and hung up. I am calling this business on the Business Bureau in the state of California. This was the worst experience on my travel to the state of California. This company needs to be shut down especially that they are providing cars that are not safe to drive on the roads! I wouldn't rate them any star, but since the site requires me to insert one my answer to this is below the rating of any star.
