The delightful advisor saved the day. We had arrived from Australia into Heathrow and discovered we couldn't hire a car using a debit credit card, even though we had been told this wouldn't be a problem from australia. Found Indigo car hire on the internet and called them as they said I could pay by debit card. Got a great deal through them using Avis. Indigo car hire also sent me a skype link so we could speak for free, a great boon as I was in Spain at the time. They suggested I take out extra insurance with them for any damage exesss which I did. Annual cover was very cheap and it covers a lot of Europe and England. I needed to get back to Dublin urgently and had to take my 2 year old son with me. I had booked my flight tickets, all that was left to do was book the car rental. The service is very good the price is competitive and the quoted price is what you pay. Other companies will quote for one way hire and tell you there may be an additional cost for one way however they do not tell you the full price including this until later. If you have a problem with your car hire e.g the supplier takes extra money from your credit card that they are not entitled to, Indigo will not refund you. They will also take ages to give you a final answer. ALWAYS keep your petrol receipts, hire slip for the car AND take a photo of the fuel level when you return the car. Recently we were told our car was good on return with a 1/2 tank as agreed, then the supplier (Dickmanns at Alicante Airport) took another £43 from my credit card... (read more)

Hi - Thank you for your comments, we have looked into this matter with our supplier Dickmanns which has been ongoing for some time now, the supplier has confirmed the car was not returned back with the correct level of fuel which is why thay have charged you. The car was due to be returned with 1/2 a tank of fuel but was returned back with just under 1/4 a tank of fuel. Without any proof that the car was returned back 1/2 full we cannot look into this matter further. If you can email a copy of the fuel receipt to show you filled the car with fuel before returning or the signed check in sheet we can go back to Dickmanns to dispute. We have very many happy customers, and are very sorry to learn you have not had a good experience on this occasion. We have explained it is very tricky as we were not there when you actually returned the car so can only go on what our supplier has advised.
