“Bad Info and Customer Service”

Car Hire from Tipoa Carhire brokers should be avoided. Especially in Bristol UK. When I asked questions the info provided was vague and misleading and incorrect when I challenged this was told to cancel and go elsewhere. Cheap rate which attracts you in. They advertise and state they provide quotes from all major hire companies but I was only offered cars from one off airport company who do not use major car brands as advertised by Tipoa. I chose a VW Golf type and was told via Live Chat that the cars are on the Airport or would be delivered to the terminal when discussing my needs before booking. After booking I found that I only had choice of offsite provider via a shuttlebus. I tracked down and called the hire company, they were great and open, explaining they do not have vehicles on the airport or deliver either. They do not stock cars from VW, Ford, Peugeot etc. Tipoa advert offered free cancelation. Also Live Chat operator and local manager via email offered me cancelation prior and after booking but when I tried to cancel I found there was a penalty for doing so. Tipoa do have an office on the airport grounds located in the car hire area but are only brokers and do not seem to offer any rates from any of these main car hire companies. Because I am travelling with a relative in a wheelchair and limited mobility a Shuttlebus is not a viable or easy option especially at Bristol Airport. I would never use or recommend this company I use car rentals all over the UK and world and never had this bad an experience or been told so many lies.

“Terrible car renTal”

This company is not good and charge an expensive cancellation fee! Don't book this car rental company otherwise you will feel regret!!

“Its the actual Car company not the Agent who are important”

We "hired" a car for 3 days from TIPOA 5 dats ago to collect from Malaga Airport. Before we booked it we e mailed TIPOA and asked the following. "As I don't have a credit card but will be the driver can we use my partners credit card". TIPOA emailed back that so long as she turned up with her card and passport when we picked up the car it would be ok. So we booked. On turning up to pick up the car from "Record Go", who are the actual car company, they refused to let us have it citing different driver to the Credit card. On asking if we could change the driver to my partner they said only if they got another Voucher from us/TIPOA. This is impossible to do two stories under Malaga Airport with no computer or printer. The girl at Record Go was unhelpful and said in any event even though we had a Zero "insurance" Excess we would still have to buy their insurance to take the car if we came with a new voucher. She would not accept the email from TIPOA saying the credit card situation was ok. Fair play to TIPOA and especially CarTrawler who handled my complaint with the utmost courtesy and help and are refunding our money.

I am not sure if it would have been applicable or helpful in this particular case but some rental car suppliers do accept DEBIT CARDS, although they do insist on their own full insurance is taken at the desk , which can make the overall rental more expensive.

“Tipoa Rental Car at Miami International Airport”

I was very impressed with the website and the super low rate! On arrival at MIA I followed the instructions contained within the email voucher. I got the MIA sky train to the new and superb Rental Car Centre. It could not have been easier. I also used Tipoa again in Nassau Bahamas and once again their service was exactly as they said. I am Spanish and found their spanish language website very useful and easy to use. I downloaded their APP but this is in English only, but was very handy when travelling around downtown Miami and Florida, I used it as a GPS.

“Tipoa at Adelaide Airport ”

I rented a camper van for two weeks and was generally pleased with the service. Tipoa are an online broker with an excellent customer service chat facility, which proved useful when I lost my confirmation voucher. I certainly will use them again.

“Candid advice on renting a car in Mexico”

Well I must say this has to be a first. A rental car company (broker) recommending to get a taxi .... This article is refreshing in it´s honesty and prepared me for the worse. I did actually still go ahead and make a reservation in Cancun, and sure enough at the rental car desk Avis pressured me to take out their extra insurance and said the Allianz Global Assistance policy I took out on the tipoa.us website is not valid in Mexico. I refused to be brow beaten and took my hire car. Well done Tipoa !

“Choose your fuel policy !”

Well although it shows how unfair the rental car suppliers are in Spain, at least at Tipoa.com you can see and choose your fuel policy. After all is said and done, i decided I would rather have a cheaper daily rental car hire rate than pay the extra for a full - full fuel policy. there are no hidden charges and no horrible surprises. Be sure though you do not get talked into any extras at the rental car suppliers desk, however much of a hurry or late as it may be. I purchased everything in advance via the tipoa website, including zero excess insurance and was covered for pretty much everything. loss of car keys, tyre or windscreen damage....etc.. I guess the best thing about this tipoa company is its superb free online chat service. they are there 24 hrs a day, it seems... so my advice, give them a try at least.

“free app is amazing & useful”

Well I have been using Tipoa for about two years, always online and their free chat support, which never seems to sleep is a reassuring factor for me. I guess there are two things that stand Tipoa apart from the rest, and that is the ability to book a full out, full return fuel policy deal in Spain, which I have found previously very hard to find. The second is their truly great free iPhone / iPad app from the apple store. What makes this particularly useful for me a a TV travel journalist, is I am very often in a country for the first time, like Barbados, Martinique and most recently Mauritius. I simply click the locations button on the Tipoa Rental Car app and bingo, I can see all their locations and where they are in relation to where I am. I guess if I had a negative comment I would say that they are not the cheapest always, but they do what they say on the tin (british joke)
