Positive car worked ok. Good price Negatives difficult to Find the shuttle at the airport Tenerife South, once we located the Record go employee he told to wait another 20 minutes for a shuttle bus, once we arrived at the office it was a long queue in order to sort out the car rental it took us an hour to sort out the paperwork and rent a car. The Record go employee not apologised for a delay and tried to sell us additional insurance etc. When we returned the vehicle, we waited about 30 minutes for a shuttle which dropped people off but left the car park without customers: the driver said he will be back in 5 minutes. When I went to the office and asked the Record go employee he told me the next shuttle will be here in 20 minutes, which would leave us late for our plane. In the end we caught a taxi of course Record go said they will not refund, no apologies for delay in shuttle.

They do not respect the terms of the contract when ordering from other companies e.g. booking.com. I couldn't pick up the car because they didn't respect the security of the deposit with a debit card. The employee was aggressive, insulted my friends and at the end refused to release the car. I advise you to avoid this company! They make money by tricking customers.

I rented a car through Ryanair . Unfortunately my flight was delayed for 5 hours . So I notified car hire, record go Alicante airport. I was told a 40 euro fee would be charged for staff to stay on after 11pm, that was fine. When I arrived at the desk I stood to the side as the member off staff was serving a customer ( talking in Spanish) she looked at me and waved her hand and told me to stand 2 meters away from the desk. I looked confused as I was trying to get organised with the papers I needed. She then verbally said it louder and it came across rude and be littling . I moved away, then while waiting another customer arrived at same place I stood. No hand signals to them or told to move. After 10 minutes she then told people to move and signalled me to counter. She did paperwork and asked me to sign papers for car I had not seen. I asked if I could look over the car before I took it. She said no. Take the car now and sign because I’m going to close shortly. So I was made to sign without seeing the car… car was good I took pictures and was happy with the car. On returning the car I filled up took keys to drop off and had a staff member come out saying Come. I followed to car where she took pictures and video.. she then said YOU WAS RUDE TO MY COLLEAGUE. I said that I wasn’t. SHE REPATED THIS 3 times. I walked back to office to get luggage. The staff member hid her name badge and her colleague in the kiosk refused to give her name. As I walked off the young girl told me I was a bad person and that she could see the person I was and that I will never rent from them again. I’m shocked how this person who was not at the collection point could make such an assumption. This company has no complaint department. So it’s her word against mine. Be careful and choose a company that is open and has good customer service.

We picked up our car from Malaga airport it is mostly automated now but we had a girl help us we received the keys and the girl said the car is new and that was it we went to the car and went around the car and took pictures of some small dents and scratches. We returned the car and went into the office and they just said is the car full we said yes and then said thank you , so they didnt even come out to look at the car When we returned home the next day they sent a message to say they are charging us £350 for the repair to damage on the car , I replied to the email saying we have picture proof to show that the car was not unmarked , they then said in teh terms and conditions we should have returned to the office and showed them the proof I sent the photos in with dates and times and said that when I returned the car nobody inspected the car. they are now ignoring my emails.

Arrived back at the Airport to be told I'd damaged the car. I most certainly hadn't damaged the car and it had never been parked anywhere it was likely to have been damaged by anyone else. The chap at the airport spotted the damage before I'd even pulled to a stop. The damage (small scratch) was on the plastic around the rear wheel arch. I'd been putting things in and taking things out of the rear of the car during the hire period and never noticed it. It only showed up when it had the light on his ipad pointed at it. The small scratch was going to cost 145 euros to fix and obviously there was a 50 euro admin fee on top. The car was a Citreon C3 and I'll bet the people who hired it next never noticed the damage either. I was so annoyed I forgot to empty out the glove box which had the car hire paperwork in it and my own car key. On getting home (someone brought a spare key to the airport car park for me) I went on to their website to get an email address for lost property. The first address on their website is trabajos.alicante at recordrentacar.com. That address doesn't work and you just get a bounce back from the postmaster. I then found another email address a couple of days later and sent the message to objetos.alicante at recordrentacar.com This address seemed to work and the email went through ok. Needless to say I never heard a word from them. I also had a Spanish friend ring the telephone number on the paperwork and the one quoted on the internet for the Alicante Airport Office and both numbers just rang out and nobody answered. I was so unhappy I decided to see if I'd just been unlucky so went onto the internet to check out their reviews and as more than 4 in 10 give them a 1 star rating they must be a genuinely awful firm who do not offer any customer service. Wished I'd checked out their reviews before using them as I never would have. Obviously will never use them again. If they're at the very top of your rentalcars.com search results, use the company that's second in the list. They also docked my credit card by £107 in case I didn't fill the car up before returning. I did fill the car up so the charge should've been reversed. They only credited me £101. Another £6 profit!

Worse experience in my life! We received an old car with huge esthetic and mechanical problems. The interior was totally dirty. After 200 km the engine remained without oil and I had to buy and add the necessary quantity. When we signed the rental agreement we told them that we need an invoice for our company and they told us to discuss this when we will return the car. When we returned the car to Malaga some very rude employees told us to contact them by email in order to make the changes. Of course, when we contacted them by email, they told us that the invoice can't be changed. Worse company ever!

I rented a car from Record Go via Booking website. The price was excellent (31 euros for 5 days). I have Auto Rental Collision/Loss Damage Insurance coverage included with my credit card and got the certificate sent to me / printed out before I left for my trip (this part becomes important). When I got to the counter to pick the car up they tried to upsell me the insurances but I declined as I had my coverage in place. They explained that the vehicle had to be returned COMPLETELY full of fuel or there would be 100 euro surcharge (even if it only needed 10 euros of fuel) - this part becomes important too. i used the car for a week and took it back, I stopped at the BP fuel station just a stones throe from the Record Go pickup / drop-off point at Lisboa airport. The car was pretty empty and I filled it right up - so much so that some spilled over my hands and got on my shoes. I wanted to ensure that Record Go didnt trying to impose their sneaky 100 euro charge. I dropped the car off and they inspected it and could find no issues. A week later I get an email stated they are holding back 388 euro for the vehicle having the wrong fuel (diesel not petrol). The description is of a different vehicle than the one I had (their description is for a vehicle with DSG gearbox and the vehicle I had on rent was manual only). I contacted my credit card company to explain my position and they will dispute. I refuse to pay this charge. I suggest keeping your receipt from fuelling up and taking a video of the vehicle being filled with the correct fuel. Avoid avoid avoid these sham artists.

Picked up another hire car from Alicante and once again had great service. The agent was very helpful and we actually had an upgraded car. Will continue to use Record go when in Spain

This company is the absolute worst of companies. What they are doing is not only immoral, it is downright bad. They trick tourists and local citizens, hard working people and families with children out of their savings by knowingly lending out cars with defects that are not visible. Upon return, they will subsequently judge for damages that are simply impossible for the customer to be able to control. They say that the lock mechanisms are out of order, when you only use the car key's central lock. Dusty cars need to be painted etc. How this company can continue to be active is both worrying and sad! Never ever rent from this company. The only few positive comments that exist about the company are purchased comments or the staff's own comments posted via fake accounts. There is not a single living person on this earth who has rented a car from this company who has not been victimized in a negative way. I am truly disgusted by the disgusting business they are running.

The price and the service in Porto were great. Until we got a puncture. We stopped at a gas station fullfilled the tank and waited to be pulled away. Record Go arranged the pull away and a taxi for us. We had a full cover so we didn´t pay for anything. The problem is that the company doesn´t want to pay our deposit of about 100 Euro back saying that we did not return the car with full tank. But the tank was full when we gave the car to the serviceman. And although we sent a copy of the receit from the gas station Record Go doesn´t want to pay the deposit back saying ´Don´t bother us with this any more.´

Upon receiving the car I asked one of your colleagues if it was possible to return the car 2 hours later then booked. Which she replied that this wouldn’t be a problem. When returning the car, the office employee said we were too late and we had to pay for an extra day (150,00 euros) and an additional fine (40,00 euros). I told the office employee that we had asked one of her colleagues if it was a problem to return the car on 12:00 instead of 10:00. Which the office employee replied that the costs of the additional day and the fine would be charged from my credit card and there was no exception made. I paid 400.46 euros for the entire tip which is 40,46 euros a day. I even wanted to comprise and pay 40.46 euro, but she insisted that I had to pay the 150.00 euros and the fine. Because we needed to catch our plane, we stopped the conversation and there was no final conclusion and we are extremely dissapointed in the service of RecordGo...

Awful company. Returned a car to Palma di Mallorca. Had a small amount of sand on the floors and was charged 95 euro for 'special cleaning'. The irony was the car wasn't particularly well cleaned when we picked it up. I'd stick with the more reputable companies tbh. My first and last time using RecordGo - tiny bit cheaper but really not worth the hassle and sneaky charges. The were very quick to take the money from our card but won't respond to emails or any complaints. Probably not worth the bother trying to talk to them now. Clearly it's their business model and i reckon the reps are paid commission on exaggerated fees.

Please be aware of their mal practice, I have been told at drop off that no charge will be made by one of their staff member or a dispute over a tow service. The staff member assured me that no charge will be made and let me leave. Once back in England my CC was charged twice and refunded once. be very careful not to trust choose a different company for your rental

My holiday is currently being ruined by Record go. Our hire car broke down yesterday and we called roadside assistance which sent someone to take the car away and a taxi (which we waited more than an hour for) to take me to the nearest office to get a replacement. The taxi was given an address In Benidorm where they don’t have an office! No explanation why they sent us there! We were abandoned there and I then spent 40 minutes on the phone trying to explain what had happened and they said they would send another taxi. We waited over 2 hours, it never arrived, and eventually got a train back to our villa. Next day they arranged a taxi to take me to the office at Alicante train station. When I got there they told me they had no cars! 90 minutes later I am still waiting for another taxi to take me to the airport… I have one day of holiday left and spending it sitting in a hot office waiting for a taxi which I am starting to doubt will ever come

After renting my car, I did not receive my deposit of 1400 EUR for 2.5 months from the day I returned the car. I am wondering are they unwilling to return it to me. I have put lots of efforts to write to them and call them, but they only replied will not take more than 30 days. My GOD! Is already 2 and a half month, and there is no reply from them and they do not even answer my calls!

I booked a hire car for 2 weeks in Lisbon. The car was of a poor standard with several scratches and dents. I had to pay a deposit for any damage, a fuel deposit and another one for the tolls pass. When i handed the car in, it was inspected and the member of staff told me that all was in order and that id get the deposit for the damage back in the next 24hrs and the other 2 inside the next 7 days. I received the deposit for the damage back, but I’ve not received the other 2 (totalling €200 they owe me. They are impossible to contact, phones ring out and emails do not get answered. It appears from numerous comments on social media that this is standard practice for Record Go who withhold customers deposits frequently.

We rented a Jeep Compass at Madrid airpot for 4 days. I paid the most expensive insurance package and it was just 100 Euros all-inclusive. It was smooth to pick up, except it took them 30 min to find the car. Everything was good, we returned it on time and THEN: After 1 week I saw a charge of 95 Euros in my credit card out of nowhere. I contacted them and they said it is for deep cleaning because the car was dirty. They showed me the pictures that just show that my daughter had touched her shoes on the passenger seat's back and there was some dirt there that you could wipe with a wet cloth in 10 seconds (the seats are leatherette). Stay away! They offer low prices and then make money through extra charges!

They have defaulted cars you call them to tell they send you a track u think they re good and safe and later .the garage direct verdict is nothing wrong with the car there for you pay removal track over 250 euros and cost you .they trick customers they even have an employee way of sucking online rather than face .they are sham artists. They deceive .and will deceive you to if u rent with them their defaulted cars

SHAM, ALERT!!! €504 booking ended up costing me €1165. Do not use this company! They deceived us, and violated GDPR. Full details below If you were also tricked by them, get in touch. Let’s join or forces to take them down. Don’t trust the positive reviews below, they have deceived A LOT of people. Here’s how they deceived us: 1. They undercut the reliable competitors on Rentalcars.com etc to catch my business 2. The aggressively coerced me into buying their excess waiver, made it impossible to avoid 3. They refused to print contract and T&Cs before signing and they did not explain anything from their ABSURD T&Cs. I would say they took measures to prevent me from understanding what I was signing 5. They did not provide me a contract copy after signing, neither digitally or printed 6. The recorded my wife's bank card (she’s not a party to the contract) without her consent and made a charge of 400€ on her card... which is a wrong 7. The tracked our location with the car, without our explicit consent 8. They caused a GDPR data breech by sending my contract to the incorrect email address (inexcusable, since I booked digitally and entered the correct email address) 9. The ignored my GDPR “Right of Access” request All the way, from collection to delivery, to customer service they have been aggressive, unhelpful and refused to accept any fault. This company is really disgusting!! I have rented some 50 cars before and never encountered anything like this. I feel most sorry for the employees. Get another job guys, your Mom didn't raise you to be a lifter!

Just had the same thing happy to us. Emailed them on our return as they had taken 95 euro off of me after the fuel deposit. Returned in the 5th August, emailed them on the 6th and after one email just to tell me they had refunded fuel money, it took another email from me and a few bounced back emails as inbox full (prob full of complaints) to be told they couldn’t possibly hoover some sand up. They tried to say there was stained seats which when I saw the state of the car (after the 5 or 6 massive dents, not including the scratches) I just assumed, cheap company they don’t clean their cars, for them to blame this on me!! 95 euros for a deep clean they WILL NOT DO! Our two car seats covered the back seats the whole time so they never saw the light of day but we got blamed for that! AVOID AVOID. Stay with the reputable, I have never been asked to take a hoover on holiday or get it valet cleaned on return. Standard cleans are in the massive price we pay for renting a car.
