“OK Mobility Palma Airport ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AndreaElliott275 on 17/04/2024

Booked car hire with OK Mobility at same time as flight thru Easyjet (thought that brand association would mean OK Mobility reputable). Took out the Premium Insurance offered via Easyjet at time of booking. OK Mobility told us bare faces LIES! That the insurance we taken out with Easyjet was a 'broker' insurance and didn't cover minor damage and that they would charge €300 per scratch also that Easyjet Insurance didn't cover punctures. Basically they kept on and on about how much we would have to pay if ANYTHING happened - real persistent and high pressure selling. We eventually took out the additional insurance at €208 - almost double the cost of the actual car hire. OK Mobility staff at car collection and return were also totally indifferent/dismissive when I told them about existing damage to the vehicle; its all recorded on cameras when leave and enter the car park. Easyjet have been great and refunded us the Insurance premium we paid to them but please please avoid OK Mobility unless you want to go through the unpleasant insurance pressure selling we endured. PS - look at other review sites (e.g. Trip Advisor, Trust Pilot etc.) and you will see that ours was not a unique experience!!!

“Rented a Fiat 500 from Nice office. Picked up car at...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by GandT1 on 17/10/2023

Rented a Fiat 500 from Nice office. Picked up car at 21:00 in the dark. The car had some minor scratches on the doors etc. which we took a photo of. Even in the dark it was hard to see but visible. Took photo of the wheels. Returned vehicle and on first inspection they tried to say the rim was damaged we it was our fault. There was no mark on the tyre so we did not pay. Then the employee walked to the front and VERY QUICKLY PUT HIS HAND UNDER THE FRONT UNDERBODY and said that we had hit a gutter on parking and this was damaged. He asked of we had a photo of the front underside of the vehicle. We didn't because it was dark and the car is only 125mm off the ground. We had photos of all the car and interior but not underneath. It was like he know there was a problem. I DID NOT PARK FORWARD INTO A GUTTER AND THE DAMAGE WAS ALREADY THERE. He said the car was going to replaced in December so they were not going to fix the car. Leave it for the next innocent person to pay more. So as we had to get on the plane we signed the contract and left. Got charged 300 euro plus 60 euro for admin. This is part of their business model and why they are cheaper. Go with a real company and forget OK Mobility.

“DO NOT HIRE FROM THIS COMPANY”

★☆☆☆☆

written by reviewer011 on 14/10/2023

EXTREMELY POOR REVIEWS ON EVERY REVIEW WEBSITE So sorry I did not think to look at reviews before I booked thro Easyjet - (I usually do). All very friendly until they want to scan your credit card for security, fuel deposit, etc and speaking good English. Then comes the "you need to buy insurance bit" - something I didn't need, as I have a policy in place - this however is 'not good enough' in their eyes and suddenly they are only talking in Spanish! Insurance cost me more than double the car hire and far more than it would have been had I booked it with Easyjet when I ordered the car. Do not hire a car from this company

“OK mobility - MALAGA *****NEVER USE ** I have hired...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 135Rivera on 02/10/2023

OK mobility - MALAGA *****NEVER USE ** I have hired cars throughout the world and never had any deductions until I came across this company, even though I used them 4 years ago, with no issue, this time was 100x worse. my flight was over 3 hours late, they ask you for your flight number when booking, but ignore that, as that is another way for them to trick more money from you. Conveniently, my "booked car" was given away as i was late, but they only had a more expensive car, which was a hybrid automatic, so another $80 paid and my deposit of 1350euro blocked on my card. I went to locate the car, which they gave more directions for ( i am disabled / walking restricted). eventually found the car, only for it to be that tightly parked between 2 cars on either side and 1 behind there was no way i could get access. Eventually a female staff member came to my aid and she even had difficulty, because I had been on the go for over 7 hours and in pain with walking so much, I got my bags in and drove away. Apparently, I was meant to inspect the car in a dimly area before leaving the car park though was not advised. The first issue was on leaving, the windscreen washer warning light came on to warn there was low water. I then contacted them to advise them of some issues but no response. I noticed the car was pulling to the left, and when you drove 80kph + the car would shake / vibrate, so obviously there was issue with the alignment and balancing of the tyres. I had to contact them to ask how I charged the car (hybrid engine) and if I could return the car a day earlier (surprise no response). In the end I googled it and discovered the charge cables are located in the spare wheel section of the boot. I returned the car to the airport car park of Mobility. I eventually found their section, I stopped and asked an employee where did I leave my car and was told anywhere. So, I did, I then approached a young female who was standing behind a podium and I asked did I give her the keys or return them to the office. She abruptly asked me where the car was, I pointed it to her, was then told me no, you must bring it here (I was about 10 cars away but it was not in the return bays!). She then “inspected the car” took the keys and with her ipad light walk around the car, she then told me I had “curbed” scraped the alloys. I explained I did not do that and showed her my video, which was not acceptable as it was not taken in the car park. I argued with her and highlighted all the issues with the car, and I asked so how can you state this car was perfect when I highlighted several keys facts that the car was not prepared correctly prior to my driving it. She refused to accept my facts. I just checked my card, and they have deducted nearly 400euro from my card for an alleged scuffed wheel, I could buy a whole new alloy wheel for that price. I have sent them an email stating all the points about the condition I received and if I must I go to court to get my money back as the car was returned with full tank and fully charged and the amount, they deducted is not proportionate to the alledged damage. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE HUNDREDS OF EURO! I WILL NOT LET THIS GO.

We were kept waiting 40minutes while she checked every single small mark against the photos I had taken. At one point she said she was going to report a small mark on the bonnet as she could not see this on my photo. My husband then took my mobile and found the tiny mark she had not seen. Finally after much discussion she was satisfied.
We noticed a man before us was also complaining and was shouting it was fraud and he was reporting this to the police. She had found a small mark on his wing mirror that he had not photographed.
I think this gentleman is correct, she went straight for his wing mirror and also went straight to our minor marks. Obviously they are recorded before the car is hired out. The customers are not told and the marks are so tiny, but you expect the customer to notice them and take a photo. If the customer fails to notice them they receive a bill.
This is a disgrace and should be stopped. We were just lucky we had a photo

“Experience renting with okrentacar”

★★★☆☆

written by Carhirescams on 21/09/2023

Rented a car on 29/08/23 .unfortunately I had an accident car was collected by recovery.i was told to pick up a replacement car.i had to pay for recovery of car plus another rental fee for the next remaining 9 days totalling 417 euros.i was given no paperwork for the rental.they said it's all done by email.when I returned the car the employee at the return car park is ready to go home very rudely said I have a life and family to go home to.he then took the keys and said you can go .I then said you have to check the car over and sign it off.he then went around the car and said they are scratches on the passenger side front bumper.i said to him ther were there before you would have took pictures of the car when it came back from the last rental.he said its up to the customer to take pictures when they take possession of the vehicle. I said we did but my wife has already gone to departure. So he said send the photos we tried several times it keeps coming back as access denied.i dropped car off at 21.30 on 20/09/23 I am home now still trying to contact them with no joy keep saying no one there to take your call try later.they only seems to acknowledge you if you take out their very expensive insurance. Even them it does not cover a lot of things.still waiting for my invoice for the first hiring so I can submit it to my insurance company whether it a company policy of trying to bleed as much as possible from you or just certain employee who just do it. I have hired from this company before and never had a problem just this time with this young gentleman. I will in future take the public transport regardless of the inconvenience.

“Ok mobility- be warned before using!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Ianpa on 21/08/2023

BEWARE OF OK Mobility! This review is from an honest chap with negative feedback being rare for me. The whole OK experience was pretty poor. On collecting the car there were many extra charges- some of which I expect to hear- but a first was €40+ for basic breakdown insurance, otherwise I was responsible for sorting. I felt obliged to take that out. (I also found the person dealing with my booking to be rude, but that’s not why I’m leaving negative comments) Next was collecting the car in the darkest corner of the car park Alicante airport at 11pm. I was told “there was no damage to the car”. I still looked around every panel- twice. I saw no damage. I returned the car just now after 2 weeks careful use and the OK Mobility guy ( same as was on the desk on first collection) went round the whole car and then pointed out a scrape on the underneath area of the bumper that is not even painted. It followed the contour of the bottom of the bumper perfectly. I really wouldn’t have seen it even if I’d of tried -I suspect that you’d be hard to find it unless you were on your knees, or on a car ramp with floodlights; or you knew it was there….. I KNOW I haven’t scraped the car ( I’ve had my wife and daughter in the car at all times and they’re honest as well- they’d have said) Now I suspect I won’t be the only person to fall foul of what could be a handily placed scrape that no one will ever see when they collect that car. They’ll could just keep on charging €200+. So in my experience you might be better to go with some other hire company and AVOID OK Mobility. Or go on holiday with a professional photographer, with lighting and a car ramp. You have been warned !!!

The Alicante staff at OK mobility are well versed at finding damage on vehicles. Always insist on a printed contract, always check the vehicle and always video it as well. I think they are on commission, they charged us in excess of 400 euros for damage to alloys. We hadn’t damaged the front wheels and in fact the staff member went straight to the wheels when we returned it - we were set up. We never ipark into a space without reversing and the damage was on both sides. Very rude and wouldn’t listen to us, just took the money off our credit card without authorisation. The head office won’t help you either.. Be careful everyone they lift your signature off your deposit payment and transcribe this onto a contract you don’t see - until it’s too late

“Sham Artist if this and all other reviews are accurate”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Lamerton67 on 05/05/2023

AVOID THIS CAR HIRE COMPANY is my opinion. I got the distinct impression that they are Sham Artist after I returned the car and they charged me €411 for a small round dent the size of a Euro which was already on the car when they gave it to me. OK Mobility didn’t provide any paperwork showing dents or scratches at the time of the hire; it was after dark and in an underground car park so I’m not sure I could have photographed the dent had I tried. I saw the dent first thing the following morning in daylight, so I’m certain it was there at the time of hire the night before. I told OK Mobility that I suspect they charge for the same dent over and over to different customers, which they denied. At the same time, I returned my car, another customer was being charged for damage that they claimed already existed. Since they too didn’t take a photo at the time of hire, so they too were going to have to pay. I suspect this company generates more income from this kind of thing than from car hire charges.

“Horrible”

★☆☆☆☆

written by kutuzovaa on 23/10/2022

People who work there are rude, speak over you, don't listen to you and will go out of their way not to help you. Extra fees is just something that every single client walked in their experienced. Car that we got was damaged. We said that in that case we will go and inspect it ourselves and compare it to the file of all the damages of the car. They told us not to do that. You will not get your car at the time you booked it for. No one cares about your time, they only care if you bring it back late. This is a company that only uses 3rd parties to sell their services and takes no responsibility for any issues or misunderstandings. They told us may times that we should have read the terms and conditions, well I did more than once and they were so vague that you could understand any way you want. They told us that the 3rd party company creates those terms and conditions and they have nothing to do with them. Normal companies that actually care about their business, reputations etc would stop working with that website and would find a way to make it better for the clients that complained and had bad experiences with that website. Don't use them. You may want to because they offer cheaper prices but you will spend a lot more than what you initially pay, plus they will try to find a way to screw you over.

“Booked a seven seater and took out excess insurance...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Tonyhenparc on 31/08/2022

Booked a seven seater and took out excess insurance independently. Unfortunately read the bad reviews after booking but went armed. After an insurance hard sell we were given all the forms, exploded view of the car's previous damage and location. Found the car on a dark upper floor of the multi storey car park. We spent 30 mins photographing every panel, windscreen, bumpers and wheels. The petrol gauge was 3/4 full. On returning the car with full tank the inspector picked on two new bumps and a damaged mirror. We showed him the exploded view of previous damage but said it referred to other marks. 360 Euros for every additional bump. We then showed him the photos taken on collection. Every mark was there. A quick OK and said all good. Asked for a receipt and we were told it was a tablet, with no print out, and showed us the all OK section. We asked him to photograph the page but said he had closed it down. The 1700 euro deposit still hasn't been returned but no money taken. Without comprehensive photographs they can and will charge you for anything. I would avoid for peace of mind. OK car rental avoid at all costs. Read reviews on Tripadviser and Trust Pilot.

“Are staff incentivised to apply additional charges?”

★☆☆☆☆

written by PhilGeer on 17/07/2022

Be warned that this company aims to make money on alleged damage to the body work when you return the vehicle. They refused to provide a printed report of the pre-existing damage to the vehicle when I collected it, rather saying they would email it. I took a video of the vehicle in detail using two mobile phones - I with a light and one to film since it was so dark in the parking area. When I returned the vehicle there was a scuff on the bumper which apparently was not on the pre-existing report, and fortunately I had the video proof to show it had been there already. The staff seem determined to find something, and I heard other people around me complaining bitterly. They did still find a way - a 'cleaning' charge of €70 since there was some beach sand on the carpet. I would happily have brushed this had they notified me of this part of the policy, which they noted were in the T&Cs!

“Rented a car from this company for 4 weeks in February...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 26/04/2022

Rented a car from this company for 4 weeks in February this year. Firstly had to wait for an hour to get the administration and rental sorted. There is an attitude of 'couldn't care less' attitude from staff. They are only interested in you upgrading your car and taking out their insurance. Even though we had evidence of independent insurance purchased they were very quick to tell us it wouldn't cover us if anything was to go wrong. It was quite pressurised. When we picked up the car on site there were a number of small scratches that we pointed out which were added to the schedule. The employee on site did notice that the car was in his words 'unacceptably dirty '. He took a number of photos of the car but didn't offer to do anything about getting it cleaned .. .... . Moving on to the return of the car. Although we had it for 4 weeks we had only used about 650 miles in total to and from our home in Mojacar. We were sure there were no scratches, damage to the car as it had not been in use. We even had had the car washed on the return to the airport as we had read about someone being charged an addition cost for a dirty car. From the moment the employee opened the car door it seemed, he was a man on a mission and was definitely going to find a fault come what may! And indeed he did. The car itself was ok. He checked the boot, lifted the carpet and pulled out the spare tyre and the repair kit, where he found the golden nugget a tube of tyre repair foam missing !!! We told him we knew nothing about it. He looked more closely at the repair kit and admitted that the repair kit itself would have been needed to be used ( it was new and sealed) if we'd had to repair the tyre and therefore agreed it didnt make sense that the foam would have been used! He would recheck..... but in any case it would only cost 25_30 euros. Two days later we had a withdrawal of 80 euros from our credit card. Since then I have been in communication with the organisation (it's all been one way on at least 5 occasions) asking for clarity so this is not resolved. Perhaps they will make a response to this review (I can always live in hope). This is not a car rental that we would recommend so beware! AS THE ORGANISATION UNDOUBTABLY WELCOME FEEDBACK I IN TURN WOULD WELCOME A RESPONSE TO THIS REVIEW FROM OK RENTAL.

“Avoid.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by CHIHIRO on 03/04/2022

Appalling company. The scheme starts on check in when they are so slow and inefficient that they take 45 minutes to book in a single passenger. Continuous hard sell tactics to try and get you to buy their insurance or get a bigger car. They take so long to check in that very quickly everyone in the queue decides to pay an extra 18 euros for express check in resulting in the same queue but having successfully tricked people out of an additional 18 Euros solely by virtue of being slow. When challenged about this they reply by saying “if you want to skip the queue you pay the 18E” which equates to - if you don’t pay the money you don’t get a car. Avoid booking with them they are not to be trusted.

Completely agree and should have read this before getting there!
Never seen as awful a company as this, and I travel all the time, and have been for many years!
First, it took them an hour to pick us up at the BCN terminal and while we waited, I called them multiple times with an international set and all of their options had long wait… we finally arrived to the rental car office and the place was packed with people, you are required to take a number and wait for hours because they only have 1 help window working for the most part. They do not have wi-fi, AND they claim that you need an international driver’s license for the US drivers, which then requires you to pay $49 to apply online and get within 15 minutes. Otherwise, you can pay $29, but have to wait for 2 hours to get. We got the international driver’s license ID and checked in online (they have a QR code on the walls), but it doesn’t do anything!!! You still have to wait to check in with a help window. A week prior, we rented with the same company in Portugal and had absolutely no issues, and no rip-off requirements like here in BCN, Spain.
Absolutely awful, not helpful, worst inefficiency, worst experience of all my travels. An entire day lost to rent a car!!! Pathetic!

Had to rearrange plans as I had a funeral to attend... so needed the car for 5 days instead of 8 days, but needed to collect it 2 days earlier. I was not bothered about the refund for the 3 less days, and said that. "No matter - you cannot amend, you have to do a new booking". So I did - with a better company!! Don't use OK Mobility rent a car. Awful.

“DONT use them”

★☆☆☆☆

written by gfPenn342 on 17/02/2022

Terrible company, from Hard Pressure sale at the desk, and never emailing a contract At Alicante airport, we picked up the car on level 4 in a dingy badly lit packed multi-storey car park, we checked the car as best we could and didn't spot a tiny mark on the roof/ gutterline. We took the car back today, I had to park on level 2 with bright lighting and next to the outside wall, with plenty of sunlight the operator almost took the car apart looking or damage, we'd hardly used it in 10 days we had done 88 miles. He found this tiny mark even in bright sunlight it was very difficult to see, it doesn't even show on photos either, I pleaded that we drove to our house and left it on the private driveway, it must have been damaged before us, after a lengthy discussion he said we couldn't prove it and neither could he, it took ages and we were going to miss our flight, we were trapped I signed the form disagreeing with the findings, knowing full well it wasn't us, I will be charged 860 euros, which I know will not be used to repair the car. I've been hiring cars or over 20 years and none are great but OK Mobility are the absolute worst of them all....AVOID THEM AT ALL COST.

“PLEASE BEWARE. rented car in November, whilst in queue...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ubWarner397 on 27/12/2021

PLEASE BEWARE. rented car in November, whilst in queue for nearly an hour a distraught lady came along in tears warning that she had been filled off for hundreds for damage she had not caused on her car. As a result I checked mine and found much more damage than that recorded, only minor but there. I videod it. On returning and having not caused any damage I was met by a girl who it became clear was intent on finding damage she could charge me for. She became increasingly frustrated as every time she pointed to something I was able to show pictures of its pre existence. She actually smiled with satisfaction when she pointed to a scratch on the wheel arch and a small corresponding scratch on the wheel. I showed her the video and she again had to conceded the scratch on the wheel arch was there before but the corresponding scratch on the wheel was in the shadow of the arch and not clear. She immediately stopped checking the car and wrote up a charge of 260 euros for the minor scratch I had not caused. I appealed but their customer service is even worse they wouldn't even admit they had missed all the damage I filmed . I truly believe this is how they make extra money by ripping off customers they care nothing about....AVOID..PLEASE BE WARNED DON'T BE A VICTIM OF THIS AWFUL COMPANY!!

“AVOID”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 274Roberts on 25/11/2021

AVOID OKMobility Rent a Car I'm shocked in myself that i didn't check the reviews, but as Rentalcars.com list them in their quotes, i trusted them. The bad reviews exactly reflects my own experience and I even see the same terminology that has gone through my mind to describe the same thing that happened to me. I upgraded the car at the hire desk in Alicante, and switched to a one way hire, again at their hire desk. When I returned the car at Malaga Airport, a mob of Okmobility staff set about taking photos in the darkness of the dimly lit return area, using the lights on their phones. They took photo’s of the most minor of marks, and I repeat marks, not even scratches i.e. that in my opinion would already have either been there in the first place, or could be polished out. Lets say from my vast experience of owning cars and hiring cars for decades, it was at worst fair wear. The staff were extremely rude, and kept me waiting for an entire hour whilst they concocted a claim, which they eventually asked me to sign for. I noticed there was a total figure hand written down which was almost €1,500. So naturally I refused to sign it. At that point the staff (3 of them who I took photo’s of), became extremely agitated, wrote more stuff another piece of paper which they handed to me, and I refused to take that also. The main instigator, entered something onto the computer, took his coat and left. On arrival before this happened, I explained I was there to drop that car off, and collect another one for a 2day hire, which I’d hired directly from their web site (OK Mobility). I showed them the booking reservation on my phone. So I continued to wait patiently, and after around 20mins of being ignored, I reminded the remaining staff (2 of them) that I still have a contract for another car. Only at that point did they choose to inform me that I was banned from hiring their cars!!!!! So I was actually kept waiting intentionally, which makes me wonder how long I could’ve been left waiting! This is the first issue I’ve ever had with a hire car compnay like this, and this was the first time I’d ever used OK Mobility, so no coincidence there. Noticeably there were two other customers either side of me, and both were having issues and I’ve not seen that at a hire desk before either. So there is clearly and agenda with this company. The first car was hired through Rentalcars.com with a damage excess of €1,200 and they took €1,500. The 2nd car which was hired direct (email confirmation attached) was never honoured by them, so i'm out of pocket for that hire too. I think its also noteworthy, that I’ve never damaged Hire cars, or my own cars which are usually very large, nor the car which I hired in the immediate 2day period afterwards, I can prove all this, as well as providing proof of no claims on my own insurance for more than 10years. I am long enough in tooth, to know that minor scuffs or marks are considered as normal wear and tear, and that paying to have such scuff’s buffed out would only cost a couple of hundred Euro’s at the very most. I found the entire fiasco and the way in which I was treated was almost like being held up by a bunch of unruly hijackers having a laugh at my expense. The whole experience was extremely demeaning, unprofessional and somewhat traumatising. Had I been heading off for a flight I would’ve missed it. I get the feeling I was lured intentionally into upgrading to a more expensive car. In my opinion the Hirer lost the opportunity to mutually agree, and sign for any existing notable damages at the commencement of the rental. For those, like me who either lost their phone or took unidentifiable or unclear photo’s should not have their bank accounts hijacked in this way. Taking money from people without consensual agreement. Steer clear of them.
