“SADO Rent - unprofessional business...”

I rented through atlaschoice.com and got a car from SADO rent. Car was great, but service was horrible. This is how it went: I'm waiting at Lisbon airport to get the car, the guy comes half an hour late. The guy is wearing dirty clothes and I'm worried already now.. Then totally unexpected he tells me I have to confirm a 2000e additional fee which is only gonna be reserved, not billed actually, in case there will be some damages for the car. “Sado Rental and VIP Cars SCAM”

Sado Rental and VIP Cars: They are scamming tourists by not making us aware of the requirements upfront. I had booked a car well in advance with highest avalabel insurance. When I reach lisbon airport to pick up my car they suddenly ask for 3000 Eu blocked on the credit card against deductible. This amount was quite high. Hence we pressed for options. They informed us 22 Eu per day additional for Super CDW coverage. then the deductible would go down to 300 eu. But they still asked for 1500... (read more)

“Possible scam / fraud”

When we picked up the car from Lisbon Airport it was given the regular once-over, not finding any damages. When we returned it though, they went over it with a loupe, finding several minor 'damages', charging us an additional €150. With a flight waiting we had no time to argue this, no doubt something they counted on. (read more)

Sado Rent offers competitive prices and nice cars (Fiat 500 cabrio) and I am sure that people can have good expiences with SADORENT (Sado Carrental) In our case we regret our booking an can not recommend them for car rental in Portugal (Lisbon) - You have to wait until they bring the car to the airport (no counter at the airport) - Checking the car on the street with chaotic traffic, rain and depending on the time in the dark. - We received a standard car and not a convertable/cabrio as we...
