Bad experience with SADO RENT

Sado Rent offers competitive prices and nice cars (Fiat 500 cabrio) and I am sure that people can have good expiences with SADORENT (Sado Carrental) In our case we regret our booking an can not recommend them for car rental in Portugal (Lisbon)
- You have to wait until they bring the car to the airport (no counter at the airport)
- Checking the car on the street with chaotic traffic, rain and depending on the time in the dark.
- We received a standard car and not a convertable/cabrio as we had rented (we were not informed before arrival). Because it was rain they told us we should be happy because a convertable is not practical in the rain (...)
- We missed a damage (dent) underneath the door (not visible in the dark) and called them in the morning. But they insisted on charging us, without checking anything. We even had to call the police.
- They charge 30€ if you arrive or depart outside of the "meeting" times before 9am and after 8pm. This can become expensive (+ all phone costs to make appointments).

Conclusion: Never ever SADO RENT Others might have positive experiences but I do not want this stress and discussions again. I want relaxed holidays and a reliable agency. If everything goes well you might have a cheap deal and a nice car. But if something does not work well it can cost you a part of your enjoyable holiday. Too much hassle and not professional nor reliable.

We travel to Portugal about 3 times per year and always rent a car. We have never had any bad experiences so please do not be afread to visit beautiful Portugal! There are enough good and reliable other agencies and car rental is inexpensive. I would love to support local companies but in case it might be better to chose an international agenc with international standards
