Do not use locauto car hire!!!! I hired a car online through autoeurope brokers from pisa airport. The hire company was stated to be alamo but on arrival i found that alamo and locauto operate together and the hire was from locauto. I had an early morning flight and had to drop the car off before the locauto desk opened. The car was left in perfect condition. When my credit card bill arrived i noticed that locauto had taken nearly £500 from my account. Of course the money was taken the day after i left italy. I presume they were making sure that i had left the country just in case i had spotted the withdrawal on my account while i was still in italy and demanded to see the damage for myself. Additionally they did not notify me that they intended to take money for the alleged damage to the car or even that there was any damage to the car. On phoning them they said that the car bumper was damaged and that i could view the damage online. The photo's are dodgy to say the least. It is now apparent from reading online reviews that locauto defraud their customers on a regular basis by a number of different methods. Claiming that a car has been damaged when the customer has returned it before the desk opens is a favourite one. I believe that i was marked for this treatment from the start when they saw that i would have to return the car without them and myself being able to check it's condition together. It is also shameful that autoeurope includes this company in their group. Surely they must be aware of the massive amount of customer complaints regarding fraudulent claims of damage that locauto have against them? I also think it is strange that autoeurope implies online that i am hiring from alamo which has a fairly good reputation ( and is also why i accepted the hire ) then when i arrive i find the hire is from a company i have never heard of. I repeat do not hire from locauto and also consider whether autoeurope is a broker that you would wish to use since it includes a fraudulent car hire company like locauto as it's partner. Do not use locauto!!!! You have been warned!!!! Do not use locauto!!!!! I only give this company 1 star because the system will not allow me to give it a score of zero. Locauto does not deserve any stars and if i could go into negative star awards i would.
