Having tried quite hard to sell my Merc for a few weeks using traditional methods I gave wewillbuyyourcar a try. I primarily acted on the strength of the review centre's comments which are favourable in the main, but generally looking around on the web most reviews indicated that this is an established and reliable organisation which will not try to fleece me in the final hour. Also the main competitor to this company apparently has a questionable ethic when it comes to doing the deal on the day. I would suggest doing the research - a quick google will give you a flavour of peoples experiences.

So that aside, the thing to bear in mind is that you are selling to trade and not to the public and be prepared to be offered more or less the equivalent of a px trade in - this is why I opted to try selling privately in the first place hoping to get that little bit more. I soon grew tired of the time wasters and washing/polishing the car every few days for viewing. Was definitely not worth my time trying to sell privately.

In fairness what they offered me was reasonable and I'm generally delighted by the whole experience. I can guarantee that I would have received more for a private sale but in the end this is the path of least resistance and with this service it was totally pain free.

Initially I requested an online quote and agreed tentatively to sell at the figure quoted. The final offer was adjusted slightly after I was called to reflect the annual service which was due, only a minor amendment was made.

When we had agreed on a revised figure I arranged a time for the car's appraisal a couple of days later. Graham who's a really nice, friendly chap arrived at my door and spent approximately 30 minutes checking for any other damage which I might have missed in my original description. It's a hold your breath moment as unless you know what to look for you can't predict whether you have missed anything.

After 30 minutes Graham called the head office and I received a confirmation from Nick to say all was OK and they transferred the balance as agreed on the phone into my bank account in the matter of a few minutes.

If you're looking to sell your car and want to do it painlessly you might consider wwbyc. If I don't lease next time I would definitely sell this way in the future.
