Price quoted is not the price you get!

I truthfully entered my details in to we buy any car which they quoted me £4780 which i thought was a fair price for the car, so i went along for the appointment. When i got there the gentleman was courteous and very polite with a non aggressive attitude to buying. However upon inspection of my car and with further details entered in to the computer, i was offered £3,069 for my car. Reason apparently was that all panels had stone chips and £128.00 had to be deducted for every single panel!

Absolute mockery to say the least. I am not naive and understand the car has wear and tear but the car is worth £5000 privately sold, £3069 is an absolute joke, bordering on robbery.

The 'so what' from this - Be aware that the good price quoted online may not be the price you get when you turn up. To me it seems like its a fancy price to get you to drive all that way to the front door, then knock your price with the assumption of you've driven all that way and probably need the cash, so you'll probably take it. Not me!!
