Easy way to sell but you won't get the online offer price!

I sold a seven year old Ford Fiesta diesel Ghia with 50,000 miles. The online offer price was £3200. The car was examined in minute detail. I have part exchanged many cars to dealers in the past but I have never seen such a detailed examination as this. Every panel was checked with an instrument for paint thickness (to discover any filler)and also viewed from several angles to discover any panel distortion or minor scratches or chips (Remember this is a seven year old car). Following a short road test all this data was entered into the computer, the button was pushed and out came an offer of about £2500!!!.(Over 20% lower) The difference was put down to "panel damage" and I thought I had a smart car for seven years old. After several refusals and a bit of tweeking he got it up to £2900 LESS £50 ADMIN FEE. I needed the money so reluctantly I accepted the offer but was told that if I wanted it paying in 24 hours it would be another £25!!!. In summary it's a relatively easy way to sell but in order to get the online price the car MUST look like new even if it's seven years old, so it's better to ignore it!
The representative was very pleasant and polite throughout, his attitude could not be faulted, only his price!!
