“Arrogant time wasting, trained to do as little as possible”

My experience at Perrys Rotherham Vauxhall was not satisfactory because:

I initially took delivery of an 11 plate corsa le 1.2 which was a nice car but the performance did not match the fuel economy, it was completely powerless and on a run i would be lucky to get over 35 mpg. in the process of receiving the corsa it seamed to be my job to chase the salesman for information. After the delivery date went from 3 days then to five then to more than a week later than i was initially told it would arrive for me to view. on viewing the car i was impressed but pointed out a few things that i wanted cleaning up. on pickup only some of the points had been dealt with and the fuel tank was flashing on empty. Is it common practise to do the bare minimum for your customer?

I took the car back after a mere 3 weeks of suffering and 1500 miles, they did not even look at the car but agreed to sort out a deal where i would trade in for an 09 corsa vxr. little did i know that the le 1.2 had been valued on its return at £1550.00 less than when i took it away three weeks prior, and at no point was i made aware of this, i had to read it for myself and this was at a much later stage at which point i felt that i had no choice but to accept this offensive loss.

I viewed the vxr in the dark when it arrived and it looked good, as far as i could see. i waited over the weekend to pick it up as it needed a service and a fresh tyre on the front (offside) and a tyre repair on the rear (offside). on monday i called the salesman to find out if the car was ready, he informed me that the wrong type of tyre had arrived for the car but i could pick it up anyway and return for the tyre fitting the following day.

Upon collection i noticed damage where chunks were missing from the sidewalls of each tyre and two rims were badly scuffed. I also realised there was a large dint on the boot as though someone had pushed the boot door shut and dented it. I was unhappy with myself for not waiting to view the car in the daylight. what didn't surprise me was when the service manager told me that the tyres were supposed to look like that and if he was to supply new ones and i quote "they will look the same in a few weeks once you curb them". At this point i felt like i had bought my car from a dodgy back street dealer and i found the overall service and helpfulness of the staff to be appalling,

I took the car away and arranged to have the new tyre fitted the following day, the woman on the other end of the phone made me aware that i could be waiting up to 4 hours for the tyre to be fitted and the other repaired, they took an hour and half after i asked for them to hurry it up as i would have to wait for the car and i had taken time out of my working day for them to do something that should have been done before i picked up the car.

Finally the car was fitted with a miss matched tyre and both were caked in white tyre soap. I couldnt believe that they had fitted a cheap tyre to the drive wheel of a 189hp sportscar and with complete arrogance the service manager told me that in his entire career he has never matched a cars tyres.

I will not be recommending perrys to anyone !
