I am not exaggerating when I say I have just had the worst customer service ever, if you could even call it a service. I dont normally write reviews but I think others should know how appalling Buyacar is! I was a little sceptical before Id placed my order as I had read some rather mixed reviews and was a little concerned about the quoted lead times which was the main gripe in most of the bad reviews. I decided to not use my better judgement an ordered a Landrover Discovery 4 at the start of July. The quoted lead time was 12 weeks and they said they would get in touch with a firm build date once the order had been placed with their contacts. I heard nothing for almost 2 months so I contacted them in late August only to be told the car was now £1,000 dearer and the delivery time had gone up by 4 weeks.......... Frustrating but bearable. I then got in touch again in early October as I had put my current vehicle up for sale and wanted to confirm there would be no more delays before Id sold my car. I was assured it would be there at the start of November so went ahead and sold my car. I had to contact them yet again at the start of November to be told the dealer would not receive my vehicle until the 14th of November and they will be in touch before hand to confirm the delivery date. Again I had no news on the 14th and rang to say that I was desperate for the vehicle and could they request that the dealer to PDI the car as quickly as possible and that I would like collect the coming friday. I was then contacted by email on the evening of the 15th to be told there had been an error and the car was now not due until the end of december. I rang immediately and spoke to someone I had not had contact with before. I tried to fill the person in with the situation but they continuously cut me off quoting company policy and then told me to 'go and cancel the ******** order'. Not exactly what you'd expect from a company that had continued to disappoint, failed to inform you of any information and should have a small understanding of customer service skills. Unfortunately I couldn't afford to wait 12-14 weeks for another car if I ordered one with my local dealer as this was too long after waiting nearly 20 weeks already. I spoke with Buyacar again to see if their dealer could either a) sort out a courtesy car (as it was the dealers error) or b) to see if the dealer had any other stock (same car but different specs). I was told every day for the next 5 days they would email a list of stock over to me that afternoon but it would never arrive. I finally lost patience so contacted Buyacar to see if I could speak to the MD and when I enquired who he was the icing on the cake was when I found out it was the person who had told me to 'cancel my ******** order' previously, and so I did. In the age of frugality we all want the best deal but I would recommend you negotiate direct with your dealer. Everyone is willing to do deals in the current economic environment and you'll have the peace of mind of ordering direct with out having the frustrations of using a faceless intermediary that has no control over your oder. On the bright side I picked up a car direct from a Landrover dealer at the weekend with a 7% discount, for the extra 1% I wouldn't even entertain these Jokers!!!

Thanks for the review. I was planning to place an order this weekend and now dropped. Let them know that there is one more customer lost because your terrible experience!!
