I phoned to arrange a viewing and the guy answered 'yeah what?' I asked if it was Autohouse and he said 'obviously.' I asked him for more details on a car only to be told 'I didn't *** know what I was looking for' and 'I wanted to be wrapped in cotton wool?' Actually don't know what to say - perhaps he is mentally unhinged? I wouldn't accept a car from this garage if it was free!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Great sales team, friendly not pushy at all. They helped me find a car suited to my needs and I felt they genuinely helped me find my car. The indoor garage is spacious and clean and looks professional. I would buy cars from them.

Unfortunately, I can only add to the negative reviews found on a number of review sites. Arranged a viewing from 180 miles away and phoned twice to confirm. On the day, and some 150 miles into my journey, I received a phone call saying the car had been sold the night before (Sunday) and they had tried to contact me. The latter is simply untrue as no message or record of any call was received on the phone they now called me. The three telephone conversations I had were rushed and abrupt, and left overall a pretty poor impression.

They sold a car which needed repairs within 3 days. They even said they wouldn't pay for repairs. Bent driver's arm ; leaks and suspension needed replacing still knocking sound and Autohouse still refusing to take car back. You ring them and all they say is nothing they will do.

I saw a car advertised on their website it said "looks and drives like brand new. I dont live local to them so phoned them up to ask for the condition. And was told it was perfect in every way no dents or scratches and the interior as perfect. So I made the Kong trip there in the hope of buying it ... It was far from what they described! The blatantly lied that car was a total mess, the seats were disgusting and covered in dirt even though the were adamant it had just been cleaned, there were marks all over the interior door cards and one of the windows were broken. The exterior has all kinds of marks and scratches everywhere. When I questioned them why they told me it was perfect they said they never said that and I mis-heard them and I should lower my expectations for a second hand car .. It was only 1 yr old and was in a worse state than my 5 year old car. They were less than friendly when I challenged them over the car so please avoid at all costs the garage and people are awful.!!

About 2 months ago I bought a Mini Cooper from Autohouse Bedfordshire. The day after I picked up the car, the engine light came on. They diagnosed the fault and agreed to fix it...it was an emissions fault. On the day I collected the car from its repair, my wife was pulled over by the Police due to smoke pouring out of the bottom of the car. The engine light was back on and the temperature gauge was on the red. We had the RAC tow the car back to the garage. The very next day after speaking to trading standards, I asked Autohouse Bedfordshire for my money back, which was my consumer right. I had a very abusive phone call with the manager (1 of 3 people who claim to be the manager!), who swore at me and called me names and told he would neither give me a refund or fix the car. In short, I spent the next 5 weeks speaking with Trading standards, writing letter to Autothouse, and consulting solicitors, going through the stressful process of trying to get my money back. After a lot of untruth from them, they eventually reaslied they were at fault and gave me a refund minus some expenses (I agreed to this only to bring the matter to a close. In reality they should have offered me some expenses.) My advice: DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM!

Well what a place you have to put a deposit on a car before you have test driven it erm how do I know how the car drives or if I like the car before driving it mug iam not and no one should be asked to put down a deposit before you have test drive a car iam not in the habit of loosing money to some thing I don't know until I have tested it out on the road first

I read some bad reviews on this website before i reluctantly went to look at a BMW that i saw on the old autohouse website, i initially called to make an appointment and the salesman answered my questions and was helpful. When i turned up at the autohouse my first impressions were very good, all the cars were shiny, all their cars are parked inside so that helped me take my time and check everything on the car. The car was exactly what i was looking for and there were no pushy salesman. The staff were laid back when it came to selling so i felt comfortable. My only negative was that the guys didnt knock any money off the asking price but to be fair it was already at a decent price. All in all i had a very good experience and i would recommend Autohouse Bedfordshire to anyone looking at one of their cars.

Planed to view a vehicle to buy they agreed I had time to do this as I was coming from 40 miles away, travelled into London to get another rail ticket to Luton, phoned them to say I was on my way then to tell me vehicle has been sold I traveled and wasted money, comen curtsey would be for them to let me know the vehicle was sold. You boys need training on customer focus instead of me and my self attitude.

I was in searching for a mk 6 golf gti for about a month, i had gone to see a few but were not to my liking. I came across one advertised by autohuse but only problem was i was about 180 miles away and with my work schedule would have been difficult to travel all that way. I also did not want to lose out as this one ticked all the boxes, right colour and had all the extras i wanted. It looked a great in the pictures and excellent description. I spoke to auto house and they described it in detail over the phone and suggested they send me some videos over and if i was happy they could even deliver the car to me the following day. I watched the videos and looked perfect just what i wanted. I knew some one would take this car if they saw it i took a gamble. I checked the company out and all seemed ok. I got an email from them to confirm they would dispatch the golf same day as payment was made. To be honest i was skeptical but everything did check out they also sent me a Hpi check even though i did my own hpi everything was ok. So i tranferd the payment and the got a call from the lads at auto house that payment had not cleared so had to wait until next morning. To be honest i was nervous but they stayed in contact with me to keep me assured throught the day. I got a call to say payment was clear and my car would be delivered as promised. They gave me the direct number of transport driver who then stayed in contact with me until it was delivered to me outside my door as promised!!!!! The golf was exactly as described and was as i had expected i was very very pleased. I promised the lads at auto house i would defintely use them again. They even offered to take my golf back in part exchange when i decide to upgrade in the future and they said they would even arrange collection and deliver again. Needless to say i highly recomend auto house and already have told freinds and family. Thanks lads top service and great car.

Was looking for bmw 520d i went to see 4 others before i found one being advertised at auto house. I made an appointment and went to see the car, the premises was really nice and well lit and they had a really nice selection of cars. The car i went to see i was pleasently suprised as it really well presented and was better than i expected. I did try to get a discount as you have to try but was told prices are fixed. But to be honest the car was in really nice condition and well kept, you can tell they take pride in the cars they sell. I decided to purchase it and couldnt drive it away same day but they offered to have it delivered same day. I was a little worried if im honest but took delivery of my car same evening even though it was an hour late. The staff were polite and freindly and quite knowledgeble and werent pushy at all. It was an easy deal, i would definately go back and recomend. These guys will do well wish them all the best.

I phoned to enquire about an advertised car, was told VERY abruptly "IT's SOLD". I asked had they anything else similar, again I got the same abrupt reply "LOOK ON THE WEB PAGE" These premises are in a rough part of town it sounds as though it's rubbed off on the people working there. I Wont bother phoning them again.

Phoned to book an appointment to view a car, made appointment for the following day, turned up and was told we weren't in the appointment book. Also that someone else was literally on their way to view the car from a 150 miles or so away and that they'd promised they'd hold it for them. We ourselves had traveled 80 miles and were basically told unless we could say we'd have the car now that we couldn't look. In the end they agreed to give 15-20 minutes viewing time and then pushed for an answer. Needless to say we walked away. Totally flabbergasted to be honest at the sheer lack of humility or remorse at the events. Both salesmen (there are only two) swore blind they hadn't taken any call and resolutely refused to acknowledge any appointment had been made and yet I actually had my mobile with me, from which the call was made, in my hand and showed them their mobile number and date time and duration of call. One of them asked me to ring it which I did and it rang in their hand and yet still no apology or remorse was expressed for the obvious lack of writing the booking in the appointment log. Certainly no customer is ever going to be right here - they didn't learn from that book (or any other book I would say). To cap it all a particularly aggressive end to the experience occurred when pushed a final time for a decision to which I refused and then asked the guy straight if he'd like me to leave. The reply was yes and that I hadn't listened to anything they'd said and that I shouldn't make any comments on exit - which I took great offence at but remained calm. I said I will say what I like to which I was basically threatened with forceable removal from the premises. I really don't know how it came to such - bear in mind that we had traveled ourselves for nearly 2 hours (to get there alone) with a full intent to buy the vehicle we'd expressed an interest in but obviously subject to inspection and test drive of the vehicle and somehow we were made to feel the least welcome that I think I've ever felt anywhere. So much so when I asked to see the cars documentation we were taken briefly from a frankly 'freezing' warehouse, where the cars are stored and displayed, to a warm office but promptly left that warmth for a table back in the warehouse as the office was being used by 'Customers' (their words) which of course tells you what they viewed us as. I find that amazing as we were as genuine a purchaser as almost anyone else that could have walked through their door - the shortsightedness, inefficiency, in-humility and lack of any professionalism or problem solving skills on the part of the salesmen is immense. In summary therefore - if for whatever reason they don't like the look of you on entry then you can forget it, if you speak to whichever one doesn't write anything down in the appointment book (we never did get any admission that they'd received a call so don't know who that was) then you may as well forget it also. All in all these people are not salesmen - they really just want you to give any car a cursory look then take them at their word/advert before parting with your money. Unfortunately I believe sales begins with trust and I simply wouldn't trust these people. For what it's worth the car itself was probably about 80% as described, the HPI check (which incidentally we'd paid for) came up clean although there was some inaccuracies in the description with regard to the cars condition and service history (which wasn't full as described but instead only partial) which together with some wear inside the vehicle that looked a little out of place might have made me a little suspicious anyway. In the end even if I'd have loved the car and it was fully as described then I don't think I could have brought myself to part with any cash to these people - not nice people. In terms of staff my vote goes to one of the car care guys we met in the warehouse - in our brief chat with him he came across as much more personable - I'd buy something from him as he managed to build more trust in 30 seconds than the main owner could probably ever build in a lifetime. I may be wrong but in this business surely first impressions are everything. On leaving of my own free will, and not being forceably removed as threatened, the second (non owner/manager) salesman did at least offer an apology to which I expressed gratitude - a little humility and understanding goes a long way. Unfortunately of course it was all too late by then and a thoroughly horrible experience. My recommendation is unfortunately to avoid.

My experience was good. Bought a Peugeot - was in immaculate condition and low mileage at great price. Have only had 2 weeks but so far very pleased

Took a car for a test drive. I had already agreed the price so the drive was the final thing before handing over the cash. The engine warning light came on and the car went into limp home mode. The garage had already mentioned previously they had sold this car but the previous buyer had returned it as 'his girlfriend did not like the car'. Felt like I had had a very lucky escape. Got the impression if I had paid up and started driving home then I would have found myself with a very expensive repair bill. I notice that someone else here had a similar experience with the warning light coming on soon after buying. Garage is also quite unclear on what actual warranty (if any) they are providing

Paid £10000 for one owner low mileage executive car with full history as advertised. Test drive on local roads seemed ok. Argued an got a three month engine and gearbox only warranty. Car broke down twice on way home and has done so every day since. Engine warning light comes on and car cuts out, looks like a hefty repair bill. Tried to contact the last approved garage as stamped in service book, according to car manufacturer and directory inquiries, garage does not and has never existed. It would seem Autohouse buy faulty cars at auction shine them up a bit then pass them on to an unsuspecting public. I intend to contact Trading Standards to at least let them know what's going on. Avoid Autohouse Luton at all costs.

No, it was a silver 03. I think they've sold it now for more than I paid for it! Good luck...
