The Canon A1 was my first 35mm SLR, I had the AE-1 Program which meant all I had to do was focus and shoot. The camera was amazing, I wish now I had kept it. The controls were really easy to use and the pictures were the clearest sharpest images I've ever seen. The control wheel on the top of the camera allowed selection of Full Program, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority Or Full Manual. The film advance lever worked smoothly and I could use ANY ASA Film from 12 to 3200. I've owned two Canon F1n bodies (one of them AE) for around 20 years now, and have found them superb rugged all-weather cameras, ideally suited to the ski-touring, mountaineering, and wildlife photography interests I pursue. Item: Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0L USM
The Canon EF 70-200mm lens is one of the cheapest L lenses in the market. Got mine 2nd hand from a friend and was not disappointed at all. At f4 all throughout, this may be a little slow (compared to the one with IS and the 2.8 versions) but this gets the job done, with very little to complain. Shooting mostly products and portraits and stills, I had little use of a fast lens. Very impressed with the saturation and how sharp this lens is, at 70mm all the way to 200mm!!!When ...
