My husband and I hired the 4 berth motor home for the weekend to go to silverstone July 4th - 7th 2014. Fantastic communication from booking to hire. Very helpful over the phone. They have a 'how to use' video on their website which takes you through all you need to know so you have a pretty good idea before your holiday. The hand over was great too. I hired a large mobile home (6 berth) to go to France for a week. The process of booking, payment and documentation was very well managed with emails sent at each key stage. Hired a medium sized camper van and arranged pick-up from Birmingham Depot based at Alvechurch, which, is only a 25min walk from the station. The camper had a double berth over the cab and 2 single bunk bed arrangement berths at the rear, the lower one converting into a very useful storage/luggage area. “Great motorhome hire company”

We hired a motorhome in the UK from Unbeatable Hire. We live in Australia so all the hiring details were done over email. The company went out of their way to accommodate our needs (trickiest need being a different pick up and drop off depot) and were the only hire company who would do this for us. “Le Mans Trip”

I have not visited the Le mans 24 Hours motor racr for some 10 years and last time I went we camped. Being somewhat older and appreciating my creature cumforts, like a shower in the morning, I decided to take a motor home. I found a local hirer, Unbeatable Hire, and went from there. We do have a limited number of steps available at each one of our 11 depots which can be provided if requested at no extra cost.

I am however very glad your expectations were met with regard to the quality of the motor home provided as we have just added a further 70 2014 plate vehicles to our existing fleet which now totals 210 motor homes.

All aspects of the service provided by UNBEATABLE HIRE were excellent, from the first responses to the enquiries made, right through to the follow up after the return of the camper van. Value for money was also unbeatable. We were offered a 'Wowcher' with a 40% discount but had to use it immediately or lose it. This motorhome allocated to me was not the one booked which would had been more suitable. The layout of sleeping accommodation was not suited to aged persons as there was ladders to climb. My wife suffers from a bad back so had to sleep in the narrow bunch bed which she called a coffin! We hired our motorhome for our trip to Le Mans 24 hour race. The motorhome was the right choice. Three of us went. Campervan facilities were great. Comfortable beds with plenty of room. Toilet, Shower, TV, Gas hob, Hot Water and the fridge ran from both gas and electricity. Very easy to drive. The one and only negative was that the guide for use of the fridge/freezer was older and different to the newer model in the motorhome. The Video Guide allows you to learn how to operate the vehicle correctly including equipment and vehicle amenities. Click on the Video Guide link in the app and select the Scanner option. Point the phone at the equipment icons in and around the vehicle. The app will use the phone camera to scan the icon and play the relevant video within the app, via the internet. The video will give you step by step instruction on how to operate that piece of equipment.

You can also view all the videos via the Video Library if you need to learn how each of the vehicle amenities work. The videos are short bite size to save on the amount of data need to be download via your smart phone. The videos are also available via the DVD within each vehicle if you don’t have an internet connection.

Take a Virtual Tour of a Small, Medium or Large via the App and look around the vehicle before you start your hire. This will allow you to visualise the layout of the vehicle and sleeping arrangement etc.

Chat Now enables you to text chat with our support team via the Live Chat app. The support team will be happy to help you with any query you have and help you put your mind at ease.

“First time holiday in a motorhome with elderly mum and...”

The place where we hired the motorhome was fairly easy to find. I was shown how everything worked and then we were off for the week. I found driving the motorhome quite easy except reversing was a little tricky. Found a couple of really nice places to stay overnight by using the internet. Sleeping in the motorhome was a bit cold, so must remember to pack warmer things next time! The toilet area was a bit cramped but we all managed okay. i am a motorhome owner, that this company used my motorhome for several hires, i have now stopped using them, as i had to wait several months for payments, despite them saying it would be paid straight after the hire, they never answer emails, take telephone messages then never return calls, in the end i had to threaten them with court action, they have being on rip off britain holidays, and again they have now changed their name yet again from motorholme hire to unbeatable hire and now calling… Read Full Review

As you may be aware, we are recently under new Management and our ultimate objective is to consistently meet all our customers expectations on every occasion. We have spent a considerable amount of time over recent months listening very closely to our customers’ feedback and their valued opinions in relation to their experiences with us. We now recognise that many of our policies were unattractive and have now completely revised them.

Our aim is to consistently meet all our customers expectations on every occasion – whether an owner or a hirer. This unfortunately has not always historically been the case and we recognise to have been the focus of some negative reviews and to have failed on too many occasions to meet customers expectations.

It's via internet review sites that customers vent their frustration if things go wrong. It is unfortunate that rarely do satisfied customers take the time to write a positive review. Therefore reading online reviews, it usually means reading about poor customer experiences. And the larger the hire company, it stands to reason that more negative reviews will be found! Being 500% larger than our nearest rival, means we will always receive proportionally more negative reviews!

Our previous Management approach was very much removed from our current direction. This is evidenced by the majority of the reviews posted on the internet within the last 3 months being completely positive.

In a changing market, we had to adapt our marketing strategy to remain sustainable which resulted in a requirement of creating our own fleet of vehicles which would unfortunately impact on our fleet of privately-owned vehicles – as in this instance.

Since 2010, we have expanded our own hire fleet in 11 locations. To counter the issue of a conflict of interest, we rebranded the depot fleet vehicles as UnbeatableHire Limited. Enquiries for MotorHolme Limited are handled via our telephone sales team whereas UnbeatableHire is a web based booking service. Both are marketed separately.

The nature of the business has changed to becoming far more last minute, whilst the rate that hirers are prepared to pay has dropped significantly over recent years. From experience with UnbeatableHire Limited, the majority of potential
hirers will only pay about 40% less than our standard MotorHolme rates. This therefore limits the reservations we can allocate to privately-owned vehicles whose associated costs are far greater.

Our own hire fleet is marketed separately, the hire market is now last minute and is becoming very price conscious - if we cannot achieve the hire rates that we can pay to private owners, we are unable to take a booking for their vehicles. This would certainly explain the reason why the number of reservations we are able to allocate to privately-owned vehicles has significantly diminished.

Initially we were anxious about our first motorhome experience but the online videos combined with a very helpful handover at the cambridge depot soon made us feel better. We chose the medium motorhome as it was our first time but next time will go for the large one. The children loved our motorhome holiday despite the weather being horrible.
