When I got my first Digital SLR my main concern was getting some decent wide angle lenses so this telephoto lens was chosen primarily for being cheap. Having said that when I have used it at the odd air show or for the birds in the garden it has done a remarkable job. Like most of the budget offerings it is a little bit soft towards the 300 end but results are still acceptable and for the rest of the range it is evenly sharp all over.
