The review was so generic that it could apply to any CV. I doubt my CV was even read at all.

The CV Site review team were really helpful when I bought the Professional package from their site. You might ask why I would pay to get a professional CV and cover letter written but I simply did not have any spare time, what with the job, house, kids etc… I had been in my last job for 8 years so my CV was considerably outdated. I read a lot of The CV Site’s reviews online and it seems some people just aren’t willing to part with the cash but I don’t see £99 as that much to part with. (I think there’s a more basic package for around £60.) I see it more as an investment and my time is often more important to me. They were very good – Vicky clearly had a lot of experience in what makes a presentable and professional CV stand out. I didn’t have to amend a thing because she got all the information from me and her writing (spelling, grammar and general tone) was impeccable. I’ve been in a managerial position for many years so I’m used to delegating things to others. I was impressed though with how complete and professional the end product was and actually got the job I had my eye first time round! Very pleased with The CV Site review team and would recommend.

The CV site reviewed my CV because it was all over the place and I then bought the professional package on their website so they could totally revamp my CV. I'm not great with words so was happy to pay for it to get it done professionally. I was pleased with the end result and they also provided a professional cover letter with this service which I tweaked slightly for each job application and sent off with my CV. I have used my new CV and cover letter to apply for several new jobs and to register with recruitment agencies. I am due to start my new job in IT next week so my new CV and cover letter seems to have worked!

I used the CV Site recently and went with the Professional Package and I honestly believe that it helped me to get my current job. I was working at the time and thought I'd give it a go because I wanted to leave where I was. I've since seen that The CV Site reviews your CV for free first, but I just wanted mine done anyway so went straight for the Professional package. They also did me a great cover letter. The people at my interview were really impressed with my CV and whole approach and all the extras I got with this package really helped me with this - I received interview tips and a 'job success' doc with my package to help me along. I think all of this gave me more confidence when applying and interviewing for my current job. I would recommend The CV Site to anyone, either in my situation or who is out of work - because it really did the trick for me!

Unfortunately they haven't read your CV, it's actually an automated process when you join a job-seeking website such as reed, totaljobs, cv-library, etcetera.
The review itself is a random template that usually gives 64/100 marks, but they've more recently started to use 70/100 marks in order to circumvent people comparing results.
This company, and many others, that offer the same service are deceiving people before they've even had chance to pay the £80-£190 fee they charge (not including extras). You're not even guaranteed they'll personalise your CV when you do pay either as your details are most likely copy & pasted into one of their templates. There's a reason these companies have very little reviews and those that do are overall negative.
