The whole team at TVMT were fantastic. They got me through each test with a first time pass on a big bike.Just as importantly, I actually feel confident on the bike and I was a complete novice. The crack was great which made each lesson a pleasure… Read Full Review

“If I can, anybody can! Don't look anywhere else. ”

Written on: 31/08/2014 by Bark1986 (1 review written)

They are a cracking pair of blokes with a truly unique teaching style. Make you feel at ease and give you confidence in your ability with constant feedback and constructive criticism. I've went from having zero experience of motorbikes to passing my MOD2 test with a near faultless run. As said in the title, if they can teach me, they can certainly teach you… Read Full Review

“Would highly recommend!”

Written on: 25/08/2014 by Edgar322 (1 review written)

Was up north for just one week. The staff managed to fit 3 sessions to suit me perfectly. Pros: Nice range of latest bikes Instructors are friendly, very clear, and encouraging Flexible to suit your times Good value - low prices, with further discounts for block bookings Good time - 2 hour lessons is 2 hours, won't spend half the time discussing the highway code! Enjoyable! Cons: None If you're looking for motorcycle lessons, I'd recommend Team Valley!… Read Full Review

“Amazing experience”

Written on: 20/05/2014 by DamarionGentry343 (1 review written)

I started my motorcycle training back in April this year by taking my CBT at TVMT. I'd wanted to learn to ride for years and after passing the CBT course I knew that I wanted to continue training at TVMT. You will not meet friendlier, more experienced and competent instructors anywhere else in my opinion. Every minute learning to ride a big bike has been an absolute delight and now I've passed my mod 2 test it is an experience I will remember for years to come. It's been tough at times but all… Read Full Review

“listen and you'll learn. ”

Written on: 23/04/2014 by easyrider30 (1 review written)

The lads at TVMT are spot on ! From compulsary basic training through to mod 1 and mod 2. Found them all very patient and they create a relaxed enviroment so you don't feel pressured like at other schools. Realising your mistakes and bad habbits they are quick to get you on track and you'll soon be riding solo and you'll never look back. Although you will pop back to TVMT from time to time just for the crack and a cuppa. Can't thank these lads enough. :-)… Read Full Review

“Bad experience and unfriendly customer service.”

Written on: 06/04/2014 by 481Noonan (1 review written)

Poorly organised. Ignored syllabus of the CBT core requirements. I felt the instructors spent too much time of areas unrelated to motorcycles, such as the owners classic car. It looked like a used abandoned car lot covered in debris and cracked tarmac, creating unnecessary hazards for learners. CBT is supposed to be for beginners, would recommend a centre with its own private training yard. Had to file formal complaint with Driving Standard Agency… Read Full Review

Sorry you didn't enjoy your experience with us, your complaints were investigated and found to be groundless, we would appreciate it if in future you spoke to us face to face so any issues could be addressed and resolved. thanks Again, Jamie

I contacted your centre manager who told me he would investigate. Then subsequently ignored any follow-up contact I attempted. The only time you thought to contact me about my concerns was after speaking with the Driving Standards Agency and my credit card for a refund.

You attended our motorcycle training school on the 14 march 2014 at 12pm, for a cbt course, you did not reach the required standard that day, you were invited back, at no extra charge, the following day, to complete your course of training, you agreed, and then without any notice, blanked the lesson, taking up a valuable space somebody else could have had, , two weeks later, you conatcted Me, asking for a refund, and made allegations against your instructor, as i said, I investigated these allegations, whitch involved contacting the 2 other people on your course and discussing the allegations with your instructor, these allegations proven , with the testomony of 3 people, to be false, so, you were informed you would not get a refund, and asked to stop lying about us, you have since , reported these lies to the DSA, (the people i told you to) left slanderous reviews about us, and finally, contacted your credit card company for a refund (which is also a legal offence, obtaining goods or services through deception) , and instead of coming down to the unit to discuss this with the people involved, you decide to hide behind the anonymity of websites like this, this is all fact, Jamie Young

“Top class! ”

Written on: 15/02/2014 by James1470 (1 review written)

After making enquires to various training schools in the area, they were the only one who fully explained what would be going on. The quality, and the methods of training are first class, and everything was tailored to fit my progression. Very Professional Approach, with a fantastic atmosphere to train in. They got me from novice to a faultless pass within no time, Would recommend to anybody, Don't look further than TVMT. … Read Full Review

“First Rate”

Written on: 21/01/2014 by Vincey28 (1 review written)

I wanted to learn to ride a motorbike for commuting and after weeks of searching for a training school I was recommended TVMT by colleagues at work, I am serving police officer. I did my CBT and afterwards there was no hard sell to take up the direct access course they even recommended I go and away and think about it before signing up. I passed my MOD 2 today with no rider errors and it only took me 3 months. He has a very laid back demeanour but knows when to give you kick up the backside… Read Full Review

“Cheers Lads :)”

Written on: 08/01/2013

After carefully researching various schools in the area, I decided upon TVMT as they were highly recommended according to a number of reviews and also offered very competetive prices. I sat my CBT with Paul and found him very knowledgeable and encouraging. Even though this course only lasted a few hours I gained alot of knowledge and confidence for when it came to my lessons with Jamie. With Jamie's help i passed both my mod 1 and mod 2 first time, he was very supportive and friendly… Read Full Review

“Absolutely Fabulous!”

Written on: 05/11/2012 by TonytheBiker (1 review written)

After doing my CBT with TVMT purely to get some basic skill for hiring a bike on holiday I decided to go the distance and train for the Direct Access tests. After what seemed ages of training to get rid of bad habits learned riding a bike on a field as a teenager and developing some machine control I was taken out on the road and I learned (and Jamie learned) how little I knew about riding a motorcycle (safely or otherwise! Never mind, I stuck with it and Jamie stuck with me and now I've… Read Full Review

“Supervised Neglect ”

Written on: 21/07/2012

I come from 3 years of teaching background and the following is my objective description. I was impulsive enough to pay for the CBT and the 12 hour course in advance when I should have just tried them out for a few hours of teaching before paying for a full wack 12 hour course costing £260. This is what I advise you to do if you prefer to make your own mind up, just try them for a few hours and see if they teach properly. Then maybe try another training centre to compare. The person who… Read Full Review

This person chooses to stay anonymous ? we have tried to contact them to resolve this issue, we are sorry you did not enjoy your experiance with us, but we are the most established school in the area, and get most of our work through recommendatons, we train te local police, paramedic and fire brigade, so our system works,if you had brought your dissatifaction to our attention we would have bent over backwards to help you, to the point of giving you a refund , the fact you complain this way goes to show what kind of person you are.

Please do not believe what the owner is saying. Just pop in and have a look at their office and the side road in which they train you. There is no way on earth that local police & high level organisations will send their staff here to train, it's an absolute shambles. In fact this disgraceful company loses lots of customers to nearby schools. Just buy 1 riding lesson and then buy 1 riding lesson elsewhere and you will see how bad they really were. Please don't waste so much money like I did. Also the owner wrote to me asking me to remove my comments and then this site asked to see my receipts which I thankfully still had to prove I was genuine. I was seriously betrayed here and the owner made no attempts at the time at improving his shoddy service.

We had to launder our gear after you had worn it, you were arrogant ,to the level of ignoring our instructors , and we were happy you didnt rebook once your course finished.we have been training on team valley for the past 18 years, and have put hundreds of people through there tests, every now and again we get somebody who really shouldnt ride a bike, an that was you. so, you can bad mouth us, tell lies about us, hide behind comments like this, but, really , nobody listens to you.

I can tell you i have passed my motorcycle exams without failure, both mod1 and mod2 in a row. I had to start from scratch as it appeared to the new instructors (who i will not name so as not to cause a turf war) that i had not been taught anything. They tell me that they receive dozens of failed students from you each year. They even said that your girlfriend came to them to pass her test. I dont know why they would mention that if it wasnt true.

Having Faultlessly passed my test with TVMT last month, then reading this review I would say it is so far from the truth its unbelievable, I had a extremely enjoyable time on all of my lessons, I was fully supported by not only Jamie & Paul, but the many people who he had got through their tests and had popped in.

I had never been on a motorcycle before in my life and I was able to pass both parts of my tests first time, without doing a great deal of lessons.

Also, I would say the yard work is vital to anyone who wants to learn to ride, If you can't master your slow riding (MOD 1 TEST!!) then you shouldn't be out on the road! .. Practice makes perfect!

My partner is deaf and requires hearing implants not only to hear but to hold her balance, she wants to learn to ride, and having discussed it with the instructors I'm 100% confident and trust them to be able to teach her efficiently and safely. - This would not be the case if the standard of training wasn't exceptional!

I would advise anyone Ignores the original post, and pop down for a coffee and a chat about your training!

“A Great Introduction to Riding Safely”

Written on: 22/06/2012

I did my CBT with TVMT in March this year after years of wanting to ride a motorbike but never getting round to it - save for a few spins on an old bike on a field when I was a teenager. I was so impressed I booked a course of lessons with TVMT to take me up to my full test. I learned with Paul and am training with Jamie. Equipment was provided for the CBT and I found the area to be safe and suitable for training. Even though I am slow on the uptake (you get that way after the age of 50) both… Read Full Review

i actually read the above revues after doing my full test with Jamie and the lads at TVMT in gateshead, i cant believe such twaddle, im guessing they must be bitter about failing, as the guys down there wont issue a cbt if they are not safe to ride, i found Jamie and paul and Tim , polite knowledgable and very patent with all the trainees , i done my cbt with a 16 yr old girl and a 56 year old man, niether of whitch had ridden before, i found his prices the most competative and if you read the… Read Full Review
