I needed proof of an Endorsement and it was e-mailed to me in less than two minutes! Originally I was unsure of what Markel was or even did. I needed public liability insurance of 5,000000. It was quite confusing at first being a first time user to this type of insurance, because I was not sure of what insurance was needed for me personally. However once I found out it was public not private liability I needed, Markel as a whole was straight forward and helpful. I was looking for Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance and Markel could not have made it easier. When I asked for Professional Indemnity they automatically included Public Liability Insurance in the quote which made it simpler and quicker for me and the quote was about half of the cost of that from another insurer I had found online, just for the Public Liability part! From noticing the full page advert in the Sunday Times Magazine, to going online to obtain a quote with minimum effort or fuss, to receiving online confirmation of cover and policy documentation, to clarifying one aspect by telephone with a knowledgeable and helpful handler, I found the whole process almost refreshing compared with dealing with a high street broker. My company needed Professional Liability insurance in order to be able to take a major sub-contract, but it had to have unlimited number of claims (not an aggregated level). My existing cover was over a quarter of the limit required and that was an aggregated total.
