“Customer service in the Carlisle agency”

Written on: 21/05/2013 by Jamesstuart1963 (1 review written)

Just booked a short break for my daughter, granddaughter and son in law at the Carlisle Caladonian travel office.I can honestly say that in over thirty five years of booking holidays,in most high street travel agents, that the customer service from the young lady in your Carlisle office is the best that I have ever experienced. Nothing was too much trouble for his young lass, she made my daughter and granddaughter so excited with her passion and enthusiasm.I am so impressed with the service... (read more)

“STRANDED IN STRANRAER”

Written on: 09/04/2013 by Young75

This was an experience I never want to repeat the holiday itself was good but the return journey was just hell there wasn't any decisive action taken or any back up plan in place by Caledonian Travel at one point we were going back to Ireland on the ferry having crossed to Scotland. Thank goodness for the Red Cross, St Andrews Ambulance, Police and volunteers otherwise we would have been left to our own devices, a company this size should have procedures in place for when unfortunate... Billythomson's Response to Young75's Review

sorry Young75, but i don't think you can blame Caledonian Travel for the weather, i think this would come under the heading as an act of god, if it hadn;t been for the 4 idiots wanting to leave the coach and go for the train and keeping the coach back, missing the police escort, we would have been in the sports centre a lot earlier and possibly got 1 of the mattresses that were available in their gym rather than sleep in the theatre seats..

Countrydwellers's Response to Young75's Review

Written on: 21/04/2013

Oh come come Young 75 there was absolutely nothing more Caledonian Travel could do as the Police were totally in charge of the situation and could and would not (quite rightly so) not let anyone travel onwards as the road was blocked. I agree with Billy Thomson's response if it had'nt been for the four idiots forcing the poor bus driver to move the coach so they could perhaps catch a train we would have not missed the convoy to the leisure centre. In Caledonian Travels defence I think they did their very best in trying to locate us accommodation a very long shot at best but I do appreciate their offer of vouchers towards a future holiday as a very nice gesture of goowill along with their very prompt letter of apology. Thank you Caledonian Travel and Pat our driver. As we all know you can never please eveyone all of the time!

“Letterkenny Party Time”

Written on: 01/04/2013 by BillyThomson (1 review written)

Just got back from this tour a week ago, it was absolutely brilliant. The driver of the Parks of Hamilton bus(Pat) was very informative. Our first day trip was ok, the second day trip to Londonderry was the best of both tours. The hotel, The Mount Erigall was fantastic, staff included. On our day of leaving when we arrived in Belfast it had been snowing heavily. When we arrived in Stranraer we were met by the local police who informed Pat that all roads out of Stranraer were closed owing to... (read more)

Written on: 22/10/2012

Went on a Caledonian holiday to brugge last week and it was the best holiday i have been on and i have always been on national travel coach holidays the journey was made pleasant by having a friendly and caring driver named henry from Scotland. He was nolageble about all the places he took us too there was tea/coffee/soft cold juices on the coach. It makes your holiday more speacial when you have a good driver who cares about his passengers it was a jam packed 5 days away plenty to see... (read more)

“Used Caledonian Travel for the past 25 years and it...”

Written on: 29/08/2012

Used Caledonian Travel for the past 25 years and it seems that safety to the passenger is not a priorty any more, web page states modern coaches, well the coach that collected my party out of Glasgow was about 30 years old, uncomfortable and not of the standard I would expect when going on a long journey. Won't be booking again the quality has definately dropped. (read more)

“Early breakfast”

Written on: 25/08/2012 by margaretrowan2004 (1 review written)

Went to London on 24August.Coach was not as comfortable as it could have been for such a long journey. The driver Paul was excellent and did all he could for us and was extremely friendly.I have one very big complaint which was the unearthly time we were allocated for breakfast. 7am is not what I would call a fair time for a holiday We had to be up at around 6 15 am There were two other coach tours in the same hotel. It would have been fairer to alternate the times for breakfast.Paul tried to... “Coach was a disgrace.”

Written on: 05/06/2012 by GlessgaSandy (3 reviews written)

On the 28th. of May we went on a trip to Blackpool with Caledonian Travel. When we boarded the coach we noticed that the numbers on the seats did not correspond with the numbers on our tickets. Everyone boarding had trouble finding their seats. The coach was in a dirty condition, there wear sweet papers lying about and lolly pop sticks stuck to the base of the overhead luggage rack. My wife and another passenger who sitting across the passageway from us got chewing gum on their clothes.... (read more)
