“Newquay, Eden Project, St ives”

Written on: 24/09/2016 by wdBaxter384 (1 review written)

Travelled approx 13 hours from Glasgow to Newquay. Expected a horrendous journey but actually experienced a very pleasant one. Throughout the 7 days, the driver was absolutely 1st class (I have to mention his name was Walter), very obliging & very witty. The hotel, the Pentire, was extremely good and the visitations on most days were easy & interesting. Can't think of any complaints… Read Full Review

“Burstin. Folkstone”

Written on: 05/09/2016

Driver had radio2 on the whole journey Glasgow to Folkestone, fag in mouth when helping you down the steps of the bus. Burstin Hotel the dirtiest room I have ever been shown to in a hotel and I am very well world travelled second one wasn't much better, third was ok. Price for holiday was cheap so food would probably not be very good but at least room would be clean and comfortable. Got that wrong, it was the opposite, food and restaurant staff were very good. Cant believe Caledonian Travel is… Read Full Review

“St Annes/ Monterey beach hotel”

Written on: 08/08/2016 by CharlesFallon (1 review written)

Lovely hotel with modern decor. Freshly cooked breakfasts,3 course evening meal plus tea or coffee all well presented and efficiently. Cross the road and you enter the beach, gorgeous. Lovely resort with all one needs and Blackpool a bus ride away if you want it. Go for this one if you want a clean pleasant hotel. Cafes on pier worth a visit. Only suggestion is perhaps people are tired of bingo and highest card games. The pensioners are not as old fashioned as you might think… Read Full Review

“Great value for money!!”

Written on: 04/08/2016 by 86Crawford (1 review written)

We done the Oban,Mull,Iona trip from 29/6/16 to 1/6/16. We stayed at the Regent Hotel Oban which was clean and the staff friendly and efficient. The hotel itself was of Art Deco style and could have done with updating but the fantastic sea view from our bedroom window more than made up for this. The food was good and the service very quick. Breakfast, and a three course dinner were included in the price plus a trip to Mull, Iona and Seil. Our bus driver was very friendly and nothing was too… Read Full Review

We were on this trip from Friday 17th to Monday 20th June and spectacular was definitely the correct name for it. We enjoyed the weekend very much, the Hotel and food was great. Written on: 20/06/2016 by sxMcAllister104 (1 review written)

Just back from berlin trip. The most relaxing coach trip we have been on. The hotels we stayed at were great. The food on the whole was good although in Dresden there was only one choice take it or leave it.At colditz castle access was extremely difficult for wheelchairs and disabled people. This was not pointed out when booking although disabled rooms were requested. Our driver was very helpful and knowledgeable. Our first overnight stop was Hotel Hanover[not in Hanover]We received a great… Read Full Review

“friday to sunday in rothesay at glenburn hotel”

Written on: 24/05/2016 by mrsmg46 (1 review written)

Friday to sunday at glenburn hotel rothesay. I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel because I know it is years old. however - it was very clean, food excellent, staff really nice, room was fine, down-side - 99 steps from pavement to front door of hotel or option to use a short but very steep hill at the side to get to back door. a taxi ride from central rothesay right to back door was only £3odds. walk to central rothesay is about 10 mins (in our case - in the rain)trip included a bus trip… Read Full Review

“Excellent Value for Money”

Written on: 11/05/2016 by Foxxylady0141 (1 review written)

We have just returned from a long weekend (Friday-Monday) at the Bay Marine Hotel in Llandudno. We found the trip great value for money, hotel very clean and tidy, with plenty of choice of good food. The coach driver was very competent and knowledgeable and we were taken on two separate excursions, even although we thought we were only going on one. The driver helped make the holiday a very enjoyable experience and we will certainly travel with Caledonian Travel again… Read Full Review

“Not what you think”

Written on: 24/01/2016 by 02charlie (1 review written)

We booked a 3 day tour for Chester and Liverpool and 3 days before we were to leave we got a letter informing us of our selected hotel which was in Stockport , when we checked the reviews for the Brittania Hotel they were horrendous and when we phoned Caledonian to cancel we were just told we were too late and could not receive a refund. As we where only informed about the hotel after the cancellation period had expired we feel badly exploited and would like to warn fellow potential travelers… Read Full Review

Had a fantastic weekend going to the circus in Blackpool then of to a beautiful hotel in St Anne's on sea. The hotel Monterey is beautiful and the staff could not do enough to help by directing people to their rooms and there for any queries. I noticed the staff were very helpful with other peoples arrangements that had children with health issues. such patient staff and they were great chatting to my wee Granddaughter a lovely family run hotel. “Nice Break. Britannia Hotel (but)”

Written on: 16/10/2015

My wife and I Travelled from Glasgow to Aberdeen in September for a 4 Day break, just a great holiday, hotel comfortable, clean,Food which was a buffet, As I am very fussy eater this was ideal as I could serve myself, we enjoyed the trips too that were included ( good value ) My only grip was the Coach, We had pre booked seats when we got on the Coach the driver said to the passengers this is a new coach, a smaller one and just take any seat, this caused a big problem as when the passengers… Read Full Review

“Fab trip, fab driver”

Written on: 06/10/2015 by Carsonjd495 (1 review written)

We travelled as a couple and a single person to Bournemouth last week and cannot fault our coach or driver in any way. Neil was a friendly, informative driver and explained all about our journey and the stops he'd be making along the way since Bournemouth from Scotland is quite a distance. The two trips which were included were very good too. The M6 motorway is notoriously bad for traffic jams and coming back was no exception. Neil took a diversion to avoid us sitting for over an hour… Read Full Review

“Very Disappointing”

Written on: 19/09/2015 by TighnaCreag (1 review written)

On 10th August my husband and I went on a Caledonian tour to South Wales and the GOWER PENINSULA UNFORTUNATELY WE NEVER REACHED THE GOWER PENINSULA WHICH WAS OUR REASON FOR BOOKING because the driver said that it was not on his paperwork despite the notice on his windscreen. SOUTH WALES and THE GOWER PENINSULA!! Instead he arranged an optional tour around Cardiff and if you did not wish to pay for that you had to spend the afternoon in the hotel outside Newport or spend several hours in… Read Full Review

Written on: 10/09/2015 by Victor1961 (1 review written)

Day 1 – Friday 24th July 2015 We were meant to depart from Carlisle on Friday 24th July at 9.30am but the coach arrived late at 10.05am. There were no apologies from the driver. He never introduced himself he had no name badge. We stepped onto the coach and was immediately met by angry passengers who had got on at Glasgow and they told me that it had been a shambles from the minute they got on. Apparently the driver had told everyone to sit where they wanted to, but of course people booked… Read Full Review
