Had a lovely meal here with my girlfriend. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed and quiet.
We had a drink each when went in (Beer and Campari & Soda), we had a starter and a main each with two half bottles of wine (both of which were excellent) and we shared a desert. The bill came to £92. Having spent around £70 on a similar meal in The Wool Pack nearby which although convenient and consistant with it's good food the difference in class really shows between that and this small french restaurant.
There was a nice wait between the starter and main, a previous reviewer complained about the wait but I found this refreshing and added to the enjoyment of the course and the evening.
This is not a restaurant to rush in and out of, it's a restaurant to spend and evening. They only had one sitting when we went in on Friday night so you are able to take your time and not feel as you're being rushed through. The food is excellent and the service was polite, attentive and friendly.
Booking is recommended as it has a great reputation locally so is in high demand. It only seats around 20 so best to reserve in advance
