Item: Brother FAX T104 Plain Paper Thermal transfer
The Brother FAX T104 Plain Paper Thermal transfer doesn't seem to be able to handle multiple sheets of paper-- I end up having to feed each page of the fax manually, which is ridiculous. Also doesn't seem to like more than five page faxes! When a fax doesn't go through, it prints a very slow, plodding error report, but doesn't print a report if it goes through successfully, which is not very reassuring to me. Item: Brother Colour 1820C
Brother Multifunction machines are cheap - because they must make huge amounts on the ink.If you absolutely must buy this machine - use cheapo ink as I don't think using their own ink makes the slightest jot of difference when you get the famous Error 41 (Print head dead - though it works just fine in test mode!)For inkjet, stick with Epson or HP, for lasers, Brother are not too bad - but mine seems clunky and noisy - and only seem to get part-filled toner carts when you buy ...

I print the photo from my computer and make additional copies on my fax machine. This is a replacement machine. The other exact model had a major failure about five years ago and it was replaced by Brother. I had the other unit for 1 1/2 years before it died. I upgraded to a fax/scanner with no telephone receiver at my office, and ...

Easy to use, but no backup or support. Ours has just developed an Error 41 but we don't know what that means.

    Item: Brother Colour 1820C
The Brother Colour 1820C has good colour, is fast, and is reliable. A great machine for phoning faxing and copying, a recommended buy.
