“Liars and in need of training”

★★☆☆☆

I'm on the apparently unlimited plan, but get charged for calling the 0845 number to turn on the "smart divert", that doesn't work on the first try, even though it says it has. In the first month, I racked up nearly £6 in charges for those calls! So anyway, unlimited landline calls is not true.

The call divert has been an ongoing issue since the start of the contract. I have been through many customer service bods, all nice enough but the differing advice showed them not to be very well trained. The latest thing was being told that the problem could be due to the fact talktalk run my call divert, I could swap to BT call divert. So after them saying it could be done on a Saturday so not affecting my business, I agreed. After all, I have been charged for it all this time and not had it working right and the line being down for 24 hrs on a Saturday is bareable for our business.

Then several weeks later, as I hadn't heard anything regarding it, I asked them what was happening. Their reply was it was happening mid week and they actually couldn't ever offer it for a Saturday.

Oh and another thing, they advertise (or at least, were when I was unfortunate to sign up), for only having UK call centres. But what they don't tell you is they have a small Indian call centre to call you up while you're working, trying to make fake small talk and sell you something. Despite requesting numerous times, I cannot stop them. I wouldn't mind if they could hold a conversation in English outside of the script they've learnt!

I've tried Sky. I've tried BT. I've tried talktalk. Now I've tried XLN for 6 months and still haven't ironed out the teething problems.... If I were to put these in order of preference of providers, XLN wouldn't be bottom, but certainly not top either... They're cheap for a reason.

Oh btw, that price they advertise? Yeah it was without VAT when I signed up at least. So not really cheap either, even without the limited "unlimited" bundle
