We've been with Virgin since the NTL/Telewest days with dial-up and admittedly, sometimes things do go wrong (very occasionally though!) and there customer services is a nightmare and you get passed from department to department BUT service wise I think they're excellent and very rarely have any problems with my broadband, occasionally the V+ box does need re-booting but not regularly. The only other thing I would say is a problem is their lack of interest in existing customers, they always seem to be offering them better deals! I've never had a superhub so can't comment on what they're like but from what some people have said I think I'd stick with the wireless router I have! Speed wise no matter what time I do a speed check I consistently receive 10MB download (Exactly what I pay for) only 0.5 to 1MB upload though although, this rarely causes much of an issue and certainly isn't bad compared to the likes of B.T. and Plusnet etc.
