Virgin media broadband for BT telephone line customers. These are people not able to connect to a Virgin cable service. Mine is an absolute snail of a service. I live in a rural area with ancient infrastructure. But the service comes to a standstill at peak user times. It can take 10 minutes to upload a 100k byte, yes kilobyte, not megabyte picture. The system just sits there dead for minutes at a time. Uploads generally take much longer than downloads.
It is an appalling service in this day and age. My old dial up 56K modem system would work faster for much of the time.
In fact I'm writing this at 6-30 pm because I've given up trying to send some small VGA sized pictures on emails. I will have to get up about 5 am in the morning and try again, when there are not so many subscribers sucking at the old tired bandwidth at once.
The support is worse than useless, if you can access it at all. Staff must be recruited on the basis of being prepared to work for next to nothing rather than having any technical knowledge whatsoever.
These telecoms companies ought not to be allowed to continue in business, taking peoples money and putting nothing into the service at all.
