two days after having my virgin broadband (with super hub) installed i was greeted with the message 'you are not connected to the internet'. bemused by this i tried several computer diagnostics (and my perplexity meant i repeated the same action a few times) before resigning myself to telephoning the company. i was told that engineering work was taking place and i would have no internet connection for the next three days. the employee in the indian call centre could offer no explanation as to why i wasn't warned about this work but promised to refund me the three days loss: which made me think that if i hadn't phoned to complain -and as they hadn't warned me about it in the first place- they would have done nothing.
i am supposed to be receiving up to 30mb of broadband but am getting less than 5mb. sometimes the service is worse than when i had dial-up and i have to reset the 'super hub'. the service is a disgrace.
they are currently advertising this pacakage -telephone, tv with tivo box and 'up to' 30mb broadband- using usain bolt, the jamaican sprinter: if he performs as well as virgin he can forget about even finishing the race.
